Global Marketing Transformation Director

The Coca-Cola Company is embarking on a Marketing Transformation to transform our Marketing into the critical driver of our growth algorithm. TCCC has recently set up a Marketing Transformation Management Office to orchestrate and accelerate the Transformation. A critical component of this acceleration is the establishment of a robust Development & Delivery (D&D) System team within the Marketing Transformation Management Office which will track initiative progress for all initiatives and accelerate implementation for prioritized high-transformation initiatives.

The Development & Delivery role is a great opportunity to gain experience and exposure to a broad range of high-priority Marketing initiatives across our network, combining thought leadership and people leadership. This role represents a high-visibility, high-growth opportunity for an individual who thrives in a high-impact and fast-paced environment. From this role, the individual can gain strong experience – such as, overseeing and accelerating key marketing transformation initiatives, interfacing with senior stakeholders in different parts of the organization, and working with the broader TMO on the implications of specific Marketing Transformation initiatives’ progress. This individual will help establish project cadence, identify risks and issues for escalation and facilitate resolution, and drive stakeholder alignment.

This role will be accountable to the D&D Program Lead and will be primarily responsible for working closely with 5-7 assigned initiative teams to ensure exceptional team outcomes and facilitate new ways of working. Example high-priority initiatives include Consumer Data Model, Experimentation @ Scale, Recruitment / Marketing ROI, StudioX Execution and TCCC Marketing Org Evolution

Key Accountabilities

  • Accelerate results delivery of transformation initiatives under role responsibility by embedding on the initiative team and supporting the Initiative Owners
    • Facilitate team work to ensure timely deliverables, drive ongoing solutions by taking on workstreams where relevant, and co-own outcomes with rest of initiative team
    • Together with initiative teams, surface and escalate risks and impediments, and support creation of resolution plans to mitigate risks
    • Identify interdependencies with other initiatives and help develop action plans
    • Encourage efficient decision making to increase pace of change and support in defining key objectives and prioritizing accordingly to ensure alignment with overall marketing initiatives
    • Support team ideation with outside-in perspective
    • Coach team and build capabilities to encourage adoption of new ways of working, including Agile
    • Advise team on work process and new ways of working, consistent with broader MTO approach
    • Ensure accurate KPI reporting at initiative level
    • Contribute to develop the strategic direction of MTO and transformative initiatives
    • High stakeholder management across the Network (Global Marketing, Platform Services, OUMD) including external partners
  • Liaise with rest of MTO to ensure holistic program management of the transformation
    • Proactively synthesize and present initiative team output, interdependencies, execution risks and mitigation plans for the broader MTO team
    • Ensure ongoing engagement with transformation work by supporting communication plans, and managing internal expectations across organization
    • Ensure assigned initiative teams are operating in line with the MTO drumbeat of routines, work norms and structures

Business Impact

  • Oversee a set of ~5-7 Transformation initiatives with high degree of complexity related to the 4 pillars of Marketing Transformation. Manage initiatives with high degree of complexity (new to TCCC, uncertainty/risk and interdependencies) in the area of Consumer data/tech, StudioX and Tech-Augmented Way of Working.
  • High business impact. Example of business metrics to be achieved in 2023: +60MM Weekly+ drinkers, 150MM consented consumers, 300MM USD NSR impact per Experimentation learnings, 300MM USD savings/efficiencies

  • High Stakeholder management (Global Marketing VP, Platform Services VP, Global Category Presidents, OUMD), including WPP strategic partners (Leadership team).

  • Ensuring stakeholder alignment and translating vision into understandable courses of action relevant for assigned initiatives.
  • Inspire and align the Global team, OUs and System
  • Empower others to meet and exceed their objectives and bring passion to their work
  • Ask for and act on feedback; create an environment of learning from others and sharing knowledge and experience

Candidate Profile

  • Strong facilitation skills and personal resilience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Close attention to detail, with an 80/20 sense of what matters, and when
  • Strategic thinker and problem solver – can bring structured thinking to complex topics
  • Highly collaborative working style with ability to deliver results
  • Flexibility and capacity to juggle many items concurrently
  • Excellent motivational and problem-solving skills with a history of building strong team rapport and rallying the team to pursue a common goal

Experience & Background

  • Strong stakeholder management – needs to coordinate and influence across many different stakeholders in different functions and countries
  • Experience interfacing with senior leadership - comfortable flagging execution risk and proposing mitigation plans
  • Technology savvy and able to work effectively in a digital-first world
  • Passion for building capabilities
  • Proactive, organized and goal-oriented
  • Marketing experience, with appreciation & understanding of the Coca-Cola system; well-connected throughout the organization
  • Preferably a Bachelor’s Degree and 10+ years of related experience
  • Agile (Product Owner, Scrum master, Agile at Scale practitioner) certification is a plus
