The Operations Engineer is responsible for assisting the business in resolving their product and technical issues related to Goodway Group's internal products. You will provide functional and technical support to your co-workers throughout the organization. Your work will include developing, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and debugging highly specialized software systems.
While this is a fully remote role based anywhere in the United States, travel will be required based on business needs.
What You Will do
- Collaborate with your co-workers to analyze and resolve their issues, from significant system crashes to simple user errors.
- Collaborate with fellow engineers to identify and resolve bugs discovered by our business co-workers.
- Liaise daily between our Engineering Department and the rest of the organization, from simple issue updates to coordinating large-scale outage resolutions.
- Investigate and resolve data-related issues leveraging SQL/PostgreSQL.
- Assist in maintaining and prioritizing our work queue and backlog.
What You Bring
- Team player who enjoys client-facing work and wants to grow and learn in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.
- Strong knowledge of SQL/PostgreSQL and hands on experience working in a business setting.
- 2-3 years of experience in Software Engineering or a related field.
- Established analytic and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and can effectively communicate technical information to audiences of all backgrounds.
- Highly adaptable, can work on multiple tasks simultaneously, and consistently deliver quality results which requires exceptional prioritization, organization, and time management skills.
- Remain cool, calm, and collected to provide excellent customer support during stressful situations.
Things You Should Know
- Our workdays can sometimes be long and unpredictable. You should be comfortable and capable of working at your desk for at least 8 hours.
- We gather to work and play for a week up to four times a year, and these events are required.
- There may also be other opportunities to travel dependent on business needs.
