As a Substitute Montessori Teacher at Guidepost Montessori, you'll be responsible for providing a supportive and engaging learning environment for students in mixed-age classrooms. While supporting the lead teacher, you will assist in maintaining classroom order and fostering an independent, enthusiastic atmosphere for learning.

To become a Substitute Montessori Teacher at Guidepost Montessori, you don’t need formal Montessori training; we provide that during your onboarding! However, you should have strong interpersonal skills, a valid state background check, and CPR/First Aid certification. It's preferred that applicants have ECE units or recent teaching experience with children aged 0-6. This role is ideal for those who are warm and friendly, with a genuine love for working with children.

Guidepost Montessori offers comprehensive training for all new Substitute Montessori Teachers during their orientation and onboarding process. This training provides the foundational skills needed to effectively support our Montessori classrooms and may include a self-paced, free MACTE-accredited Montessori certification if you work at least 4 days a month, significantly enhancing your qualifications.

Substitute Montessori Teachers at Guidepost Montessori earn $17 per hour and typically work a full 9-hour day, including a 30-60 minute lunch break. Additionally, there is a guaranteed minimum of 7 days of work per month, which provides a steady opportunity for engagement within our classrooms while balancing your schedule flexibly.

As a Substitute Montessori Teacher at Guidepost Montessori, your schedule will be flexible and on-call. You will receive notifications to cover classrooms whenever full-time teachers are unavailable due to sickness or vacation.
