The Compliance Department is seeking a temporary team member to support program finance functions for 10-12 months, covering parental leave. This role will ensure smooth operational performance and assist with financial grant and contract management, from proposal development to close-out. Hala collaborates with various government funders, with programs primarily focused on Syria and Ukraine.
Provide hands-on management of the finances of Hala’s grants and contracts, including:
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date budget trackers.
Budget spending and types of expenditures.
Managing cash flow projections.
Preparing and submitting financial reports and invoices to donors.
Donor communications and approvals.
Budget realignments (internal and external).
Regular coordination with the Program Operations and Accounting teams.
Collaborate closely with the Program Operations Department to:
Forecast expenses and ensure compliance with each donor’s regulations.
Manage subgrantees including expense tracking, including drafting sub-agreements and amendments.
Collaborate closely with the Accounting and Finance department to:
Collect data for budget tracking and reporting.
Provide guidance on expense allocations.
Review profit and loss statements for each grant.
Potentially:
Work with the Revenue and Finance Team in developing cost proposals for new opportunities.
Assist in preparing for and managing donor audits.
Lead the consolidation of programmatic expenses and forecasts for corporate
budgeting and management.
Support shared direct cost and indirect allocation and tracking.
Required:
At least 5 years of experience managing international government funds.
Experience creating donor financial reports.
High level of proficiency using Excel and Google sheets.
English language proficiency.
Agility.
Preferred:
Experience with programs in Ukraine or Syria.
Ukrainian or Arabic language skills.
Knowledge of accounting systems.
