Apply today for our Registered Nurse RN Employee Health opportunity.Job Summary and QualificationsThe Employee Health partners with IP to develop and oversees the hospitals infection control program. Responsibilities include surveillance activities, investigation of any potential outbreaks, hospital and medical staff education, as well as ongoing data analysis and trending. Additionally, the EH RN and ICC collaborates with the Chairperson of the Infection Control Committee to establish the agenda, provide data/data analysis and Infection Control updates as well as maintain minutes of committee activity. The ER partners with the ICC also ensures compliance with regulatory requirements related to infection control including the JCAHO standards, OSHA, Conditions of Participation, etc. Infection Control policy and plan development and maintenance as well as the the Occupational Health/Infection Control Coordinator will be familiar with the mission, vision, and value statements of this facility. The Employee Health RN oversees the Employee Health and Safety program. This program ensures that on-the-job employee injuries/illnesses are managed in a manner that provides quality care to employees and complies with corporate/hospital policy. The Employee Health RN also provides pre-employment screenings, administering annual health screenings and compliance with all regulatory requirements related to employee health.What you will do in this role:• Documentation, assessment, care, light-duty assignments and return to work for all employees who experience an incident on the job that could or did lead to injury or illness. Is responsible to ensure timely and complete documentation of all employee occurrence report.• Coordinates the care of employees who are injured on the job, including referrals, appointment setting, medical record documentation and invoice approval for payments to service providers.• Maintains frequent contact with hospital leadership team regarding injured employees, light duty assignments, projected return to work and other pertinent employee information.• Perform pre-employment and annual health screenings, employee inoculation and testing programs, Blood borne Pathogens and TB Control programs, and other regulatory requirements.• Serves as an active member of the Safety Committee and Infection Control Committee, providing reports and feedback as required.• Provides education and support for Employee Health and Safety program to hospital leadership team.• Administers first aid to minor employee injuries. Makes appropriate medical referrals for cases requiring medical attention• Coordinates process to reduce the risk of endemic and epidemic nososcomial infections in patients and healthcare workers.• Applies processes designed to reduce the risk of endemic and epidemic nosocomial infections in patient care and employee health activities.• Collects data for patient care findings and identification of nosocomial infections.• Reports and disseminates infection rates and other significant infection control issues to various medical committees• Reports information about infection to appropriate public health agencies.• Implements strategies to prevent outbreaks when identified.• Evaluates nosocomial improvements in risk, trends, and rates• Implements a successful nosocomial risk reduction process.What qualifications you will need:• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date• Minimum of 1 year general clinical nursing experience required.
