Read further to learn how you could help make great things possible not only in your community, but around the world.In the role of Archaeological Crew Chief, we'll count on you:To support its growing CRM program in the Southeast, HDR is seeking a qualified person for a career level position. Crew Chiefs are responsible for managing archaeological survey crews and site documentation, which includes feature and artifact identification and analyses; performing shovel test pits (STPs); site descriptions; photographs; and mapping. Crew Chiefs must possess the technical knowledge to supervise archaeological field technicians who are required to perform the following tasks in the field:• Perform site testing and conduct analyses work on a variety of development projects involving archaeological resources, historic structures, tribal resources and excavations• Provide technical expertise to develop design options or recommendations, and assist in the preparation of service deliverable documents• Perform routine scientist assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures• Complete projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables• Work independently on small projects, or assist more-senior scientists on larger projects• Give direction to clerical and technical personnel as needed• Perform other duties as neededPreferred Qualifications• Master's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, Architectural History or closely related field• Previous work experience in cultural resource projects in KY, TN, AR, MS, AL• Preference given to local candidatesRequired Qualifications• Bachelor's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, Architectural History or closely related field• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite• Self-starter with excellent writing and communication skills• Willingness to work under varied weather conditions• Successful candidates must be familiar with field study design and documentation, regulatory framework for cultural resource management, and GIS utilities• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a mustWhat We BelieveHDR is our company.
