Part-Time Accounts Receivable Officer

Job Description

This is your opportunity to join our team of forward-thinking, change-making individuals. Operating at the intersection of health and tech, you'll help us shape the future of healthcare.

Our Mission

Healthengine’s mission is to improve access to healthcare by helping Australians find and connect with all primary care providers. We strive to achieve this through Australia’s leading healthcare marketplace, bringing together over 4 million active Australians, and more than 10 thousand practitioners that are powered by our technology - and growing.

We’re all patients, right? So, it’s easy to get behind a mission that seeks to improve the healthcare experience for all Australians.

The Gig

We are looking for a part-time accounts receivable officer to join our Finance Team on a 12-month contract, working 15-20 hours per week with the flexibility of working across 2 or 3 days.

Reporting into the Finance Manager, the purpose of this role is to ensure Healthengine receives timely payment for the services it provides and to ensure these transactions are recorded appropriately. The overall goal is to maintain our aged receivables, improve the number of days sales are outstanding (DSO) and ensure our monthly cash collection targets are met.

Responsibilities:

  • Performance of daily bank account reconciliations at an estimated volume of 20-50 transactions per day.

  • Maintenance of all accounts receivable records

  • Resolving customer account queries and investigating any other irregularities

  • Collection of customer overdue accounts including the sending of statements and liaising with debt collection agencies

  • Assistance with the preparation of weekly and monthly DSO and aged receivables reporting

  • Attending to up to 20 outbound customer debt follow-up calls per week, along with emails

  • Providing cover and support to the broader Finance team including assistance with other ad-hoc finance tasks (as required)

About You

You're the kind of person who takes accountability in a fast-paced, autonomous and flexible environment. Fast may be your default (like us!) but you never, ever compromise on what’s important, willing to take a steady, more informed approach when it comes to maintaining the trust of our team and customers. You handle change like a pro, and continuous improvement is a way of life. You are not afraid to speak up and share your thoughts respectfully, with the intention of making positive change. You take initiative and drive your own learning journey without waiting for someone to point you in the right direction. And ultimately, you care: about people, health and innovation.

Experience you’ll bring:

  • You have the ability to negotiate effectively and professionally with a range of customers and/or colleagues, with a focus on customer retention.

  • You are comfortable working autonomously and willing to take full ownership of the responsibilities and tasks associated with the role.

  • You are able to manage your own time effectively, multi-task when required and work well under pressure.

  • You are also comfortable with new systems and processes including the use of Microsoft Excel to prepare and replicate financial reports.

  • 2+ years experience in a similar position

  • Experience with Microsoft Office and an intermediate level of Microsoft Excel skills

  • Exposure to any of NetSuite, ZenDesk or SalesForce CSM would be looked upon favourably
