Industrial Cybersecurity Engineer

General Information: As an Industrial Cybersecurity Engineer, you will play a crucial role in securing Hitachi Energy’s manufacturing, assembly, and test facilities across our Transformer, High-Voltage, Grid Automation, and Grid Integration businesses. Your primary responsibilities will include the assessment, implementation, coordination, and iterative evaluation of cybersecurity controls securing our internal operations. This includes travel to site locations (spread across the Americas, Europe, and APAC) to identify and assess critical vulnerabilities and gaps in our cybersecurity controls, recommend mitigation strategies, and engage directly with our internal operations teams to maintain a strong cybersecurity posture in alignment with company and regulatory standards. Your Responsibilities: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and maintain internal cybersecurity requirements and ensure compliance throughout the manufacturing, assembly, and test facilities. Conduct regular field visits to sites to complete site cybersecurity assessments and project-related needs. Participate in planning, developing, and implementing technical controls, procedures, and policies associated with information security and OT/ICS compliance and/or regulatory standards. Interpret, design, and implement appropriate cybersecurity controls to enforce OT/ICS security standards. Conduct follow-up on penetration test findings to remediate identified gaps in alignment with our Cybersecurity Team. Support Threat Intelligence and Detection Engineering with threat modeling to pinpoint security threats and potential vulnerabilities, quantify threat and vulnerability criticality, and prioritize remediation methods. Support our Cyber Defense Center (Security Operations Center) with performing incident response activities within the OT/ICS environments. Conducting risk audits and assessments, and providing recommendations for application design. Planning for security backup and system disaster recovery. Providing recommendations for improvements in security measures, risk management, and compliance with industry standards. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop, implement, and monitor security policies and procedures. Your Background: Bachelor's degree (Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field). Master’s degree preferred. Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States. Experience & formal training in Information Security Management System (ISMS) and Industrial Cyber-security Management System (CSMS), OT/ICS Strong knowledge and professional-level certifications in ISO/IEC 27001 and IEC 62443 Knowledge in Information Security Risk Management and Threat Modeling (TM) Experience with security engineering principles, various cybersecurity assessment methodologies, security control implementation, and validation, and system life-cycle practices. Willingness to build competence through the developmental plan for Threat Modeling Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Exhibit a positive attitude towards all stakeholders with a high-level of internal drive and motivation. Ability to travel to various sites for field visits as the need arises.
