Housing Reservation Specialist (8:30am-5:00pm M/T/Th/F)

Job Summary
8:30am-5:00pm M, T, Th, Friday. 32 hours

Housing Reservation Specialist
1. Provides positive and effective customer service that supports family housing program.
2. Confirms medical appointments to verify eligibility for lodging.
3. Administers lodging bookings for patient families in property management software.
4. Confirms reservations with families – both verbal and email, with accuracy of location and
corresponding housing documents
5. Obtain payment information and run credit/debit card payments when required.
6. Coordinates with insurance for payment, if applicable
7. Reconciles payments and prepares deposits, provides record of transactions in reservation
systems.
8. Maintains occupancy schedule for family housing
9. Records and forwards messages, triages calls for urgent information or services.
10. Provides routine clerical support as needed.
11. Actively contributes to departmental and organizational initiatives & projects with a focus on
continuous process improvement.
12. Help with ordering and inventory of program supplies
13. Maintains organization in the office

Knowledge, skills and abilities:
1. Excellent customer service skills, with effective telephone presence.
2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
3. Excellent interpersonal and team skills including dealing with difficult and rude patrons and
handing off duties between shifts.
4. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
5. Ability to work diverse patient populations: Proficiency in another language is preferred
including knowledge of how to use the hospital’s interpreter services for effective
communication.
6. Familiarity with local area with the ability to provide directions and maps to local attractions
and destinations.
7. Good computer skills, with knowledge of booking systems, both in-house and online

Physical requirements:
1. Frequently lifting and carrying patients/children and/or objects weighing up to 10 pounds.
2. Regularly stooping and bending.
3. Regularly reaching and grasping objects at, above, and below shoulder level.
4. Regularly grasping and fine manipulation with hands.
5. Regularly proofreading and checking documents for accuracy.
6. Regularly inputting/retrieving words or data into or from an automated/computer system.
