About the Role


We are seeking a Human Resources and Payroll Specialist to join our growing team! This person would be the glue that holds HR and payroll together. We are seeking someone who is detail oriented, a quick learner, and able to accomplish routine tasks accurately. Additionally, this candidate must have excellent organization and communication skills and will work closely with Team Members across the company.


Responsibilities


Human Resources:

  • Update the HRIS (BambooHR) as well as all benefit portals to ensure all information is up to date and accurate
  • Assist with employee documentation and recordkeeping
  • Track and communicate bi-weekly payroll updates from HR
  • Distribute compliance notices
  • Assist with employee onboarding
  • Generate and update customized total compensation statements for employees
  • Coordinate employee performance reviews and 90-day evaluations
  • Create and update reports for internal stakeholders


Payroll:


  • Processing multi-state payroll biweekly
  • Submitting payments to contractors and issuing their pay advice
  • Monthly benefit reconciliations for employer contributions and payroll deductions for all insurance and retirement benefits
  • Processing payments to HSA and 401k accounts
  • Updating internal documents for financial reporting purposes
  • Acquiring and maintaining state and local tax agency accounts
  • Responding to notices from various government agencies
  • Reviewing Payroll tax forms processed by Trax including quarterly tax forms and W-2s to ensure their accuracy
  • Reconciling monthly payroll liabilities


Requirements


  • Proven work experience in payroll processing or similar role
  • Past experience handling confidential employee information
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Associate degree in business administration, accounting, or finance related field (preferred)
