As a Human Resources Rep 1 this role supports our Livingston Facility driving human resource based projects, programs and initiatives. Responsible for developing collaborative relationships with client group(s) that fosters employee growth at the entry level up to mid manager level. Partners with HR services areas (recruiter, talent acquisition and compensation) to fill open job requisitions and ensure fair and equitable pay throughout the client group(s).
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Provides first line support to employees and line managers by answering inquiries and policy questions.
- Develops an in-depth knowledge of organizational structure and employee functions within the assigned client group(s); develops business relationships with entry-level employees up to mid-level managers, understanding their needs as an organization.
- Participates on the interview teams; offers suggestions/recommendations to hiring managers regarding interviewed candidates.
- Conducts exit interviews for terminated employees; reviews details with HR Manager.
- Partners with the corporate medical and workers' comp department to manage leaves of absences such as FMLA/CFRA/medical/personal leaves/workers' compensation, job accommodation, medical leave, or return to work cases. Documents complaints of harassment or discrimination; conducts or participates in investigations; reviews details with HR Manager.
- Instructs team leaders and mid- level managers on how to handle performance issues (includes documentation assistance and legal review).
- Participates in identifying high potential employees and mapping out their career paths.
- Recognizes training needs of employees; ensures that the necessary training is provided.
- Provides instruction to employees on how to complete self-assessments; coaches people managers on how to complete and deliver performance assessments.
- Ensures understanding and consistent application of CBA, department/corporate policies and all federal and state regulations.
- Provides support in rolling-out HR initiatives, activities, programs, policies and events (Total Rewards Programs, Open Enrollment, Employee Engagement Survey, United Way Campaign, Wellness Efforts, Town Hall’s, Kickoff Meeting, Company Family Picnic, Annual Required Training).Conducts I9 Verifications and Hourly and Seasonal New hire Orientations.
- Receives and processes employee change requests and processes paperwork (promotions, transfers, re-organizations, lay-offs, and termination processing).
- Provides information to client group managers regarding the corporate Performance Incentive Program (PIP) and the Annual Salary & Hourly Planning process; collaborates with the compensation department to drive the program and process.
- Develops an understanding of the Human Resource Planning (HRP) process.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
- High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate.
- Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of human resources experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
- Experience handling sensitive and confidential information.
- Required to travel to various facilities.
WHAT WILL SET YOU APART:
- Bachelor’s degree plus 3 years of human resources generalist/representative experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
- Experienced with Union Workforce and Collective Bargaining Agreements.
- Bilingual in Spanish.
COMPENSATION
- Hiring Salary Range: $28.56 - 42.88
- Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
