AVP, Provider Network Systems Enablement

Humana is a dynamic and innovating organization that is transforming Healthcare. We are on a hunt for an exceptional leader that will own the development of Provider Network systems enablement. As an Associate Vice President of Provider Network Systems Enablement (AVP, Product Management), this leader won’t just be leading a team but also charting a course toward a future where we transform the provider experience, enabled by technology.

This leader will be supporting the existing platforms across operational areas for multiple lines of business. This is an opportunity to lead various teams challenged to re-architecture the provider core operations, that will adapt with a changing environment and enable or accelerate our member and customer strategic priorities for all of the products offered by Humana.

This role will lead efforts to replace legacy contract and provider systems with modern, open technology significantly reducing the complexity and cost of our systems.  Given the scale and central importance of this platform, this change will result in enterprise-wide impacts.

Responsibilities:

  • Bring strong product management and technical skills to bear as we invest in technology solutions that positively impact our provider experience.
  • Lead and guide teams through all phases of the product life cycle, from inception to introduction into the marketplace, by developing products to meet specific customer needs and to achieve specific cost and success outcomes.
  • Once products are launched, monitors efficacy of products and uses customer and business feedback mechanisms to ensure products are meeting customer needs across each customer segmentation. 
  • Adjusts and advances product portfolio over time to continue achieving product goals and outcomes as well as to drive innovation through anticipating customer needs and desired outcomes.
  • Provides strategic direction and leadership to multiple teams across the organization to ensure solutions meet the needs of multiple businesses and associated customers and aligns with company’s goal
  • Act as a strong advocate of Product team at executive level and provides strategic advice and guidance to executives across the enterprise to develop and drive product modernization strategy forward in partnership with segment and/or enterprise-wide functional strategies. 
  • Play a critical role in influencing senior leadership on the future-state product strategy.
  • Work closely with key business partners (Operations leadership, Product Modernization office, IT, Finance, etc) to build capabilities and prioritize investments.
  • Develop and execute a product strategy that aligns with market trends, customer needs and company objectives and is consistently delivered and executed upon
  • Foster strong partnership with different business segments across organization, engineering, customer service, contracting, compliance and other relevant departments to ensure successful product launches.
  • Manage product budget efficiently, making data driven decisions to allocate resources effectively.
  • Bring industry leading product management practices, tools, and processes to the organization to enhance efficiency and product quality.
  • Demonstrated success in leading the maturity of a product strategy and organization, with a focus on scalability, standardization and market informed product design.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a product leader at an executive level in the provider network systems space
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience managing large scale, strategic projects and cross functional teams
  • Minimum of 5 years leading systems teams
  • Experience leading large scale, highly complex systems implementations
  • In depth knowledge of product management best practices, consumer experience tools, methodologies and framework
  • Curiosity of continually looking for improvements and innovative, staying updated on industry trends and best practices.
  • Ability to influence and drive change across large, matrix organization
  • Connect across the segment and enterprise to leverage and maximize Humana’s strengths and capabilities to improve the experience
  • Viewed as partner and advocate with other process and operational leaders
  • Make decisions and set agenda for delivering on outcomes, and articulate barriers and challenges and create strategic scenarios for analysis and discussion.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance short term needs with long-term goals.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, capable of interacting with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Clear and concise oral and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Product Data Management (PDM) systems
  • Experience with Provider data Management systems

Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


 

$203,400 - $279,800 per year


 

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
