Job Summary: This position is responsible for leading, developing, and deploying damage assessment crews across the United States, while playing a pivotal role in expanding the business and building client relationships.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Plan, implement, and oversee damage assessment storm deployment personnel
· Lead, train, and develop damage assessment crews to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and safety in field operations
· Maintain consistent communication with project teams, yard crews, and utility providers
· Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and industry safety standards
· Establish and maintain valuable relationships with power utility providers across the United States
· Identify new business opportunities to expand the company’s presence in the power utility sector
· Collaborate with internal teams to develop strategies for market growth and client engagement
· Assist with office operations related to deployment logistics, scheduling, and storm response planning
· Support the broader Operations Team in ensuring seamless field execution and deployment preparedness
· Other duties as assigned
Supervisory Job Duties:
Carries out supervisory duties in accordance with the Company’s objectives, policies, and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to: planning, assigning, and directing work, interviewing, hiring, training, evaluating performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing employee concerns, and partnering with HR to resolve escalated employee matters.
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.
Education: High school diploma, general education degree (G.E.D.), or related trade school education
Experience:
· Ten years of experience in electric distribution management
· Extensive knowledge of storm response protocols and damage assessment processes
· Experience leading, training, and deploying field teams for post-storm damage assessments
· In-depth understanding of Emergency Restoration Strategies and coordination with utility providers
· Familiarity with OSHA regulations (i.e., 29 CFR 1910.269) and industry safety standards
Technical Skills:
· Computer and Microsoft Office proficiency
· Experience working with GIS mapping systems and mobile damage assessment tools
· Strong knowledge of energized versus de-energized systems, protective devices, and electrical infrastructure components (i.e., poles, transformers, reclosers, fusers, substations, etc.)
Soft Skills:
· Highly organized and detail oriented
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills to coordinate with crews, utility providers, and emergency response teams
· Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
· Ability to adapt and remain solutions oriented in a dynamic or high-pressure environment
· Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams
· Ability to think analytically, apply sound judgment, and solve complex problems
· Ability to lead, teach, and train on proper work and safety procedures
Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing
· Must have a valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets Company requirements
· Ability to withstand various environmental conditions, such as heat, cold, or humidity, depending on the location
· Ability to work long and unpredictable hours
· Ability to travel up to 100% of the time, including short notice travel. Travel includes local site travel or national travel depending on business needs.
