At Instructure, we believe in the power of people to grow and succeed throughout their lives. Our goal is to amplify that power by creating intuitive products that simplify learning and personal development, facilitate meaningful relationships, and inspire people to go further in their education and careers. We do this by giving smart, creative, passionate people opportunities to create awesome. And that's where you come in:

The Sr. Manager of Global Email Marketing will lead the strategic planning and execution of customer and partner email marketing programs across the globe. In this role, you’ll own the global email marketing calendar, manage stakeholder relationships across teams, and build a high-performing team of email marketers. With a deep understanding of marketing automation platforms like Marketo and CRM systems like Salesforce, you’ll drive lifecycle engagement and nurture campaigns that deliver measurable business results.

We’re on the hunt for the kind of person who dreams in subject lines and wakes up with A/B test results on your mind. You treat email like an art form—part science, part storytelling, part digital wizardry. You speak fluent Marketo, understand the dark magic of Salesforce workflows, and can spot a broken UTM from 40 paces. You know that timing is everything, and you’d rather skip lunch than let an email go out without proper QA (we’ve all been burned by a rogue “Hi [FirstName]”). You have a sixth sense for when stakeholders are going to “just have one little change,” and a Jedi-like ability to manage them with grace. You're not just building campaigns—you’re building a team, a system, a scalable, metrics-crushing email empire. And if anyone dares call email a “dead channel,” you’ll calmly hit them with a 14-slide deck of open rate trends, click-through stats, and a few lovingly annotated screenshots.

If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

  • Own the global email marketing strategy, calendar, and execution across customer and partner audiences
  • Build and lead a team of high-performing email marketers, fostering collaboration, accountability, and innovation
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to align email communications with broader marketing goals
  • Lead the development, execution, and optimization of email programs including lifecycle, engagement, retention, and reactivation campaigns
  • Ensure flawless execution across campaign planning, targeting, QA, and deployment
  • Leverage Marketo and Salesforce to build scalable, automated programs with robust segmentation and personalization
  • Monitor email performance, run A/B tests, and analyze data to optimize open rates, click-through rates, conversions, and ROI
  • Drive email best practices including deliverability, compliance, accessibility, and brand consistency
  • Collaborate with marketing operations to improve campaign infrastructure, lead management, and reporting
  • Stay current on industry trends, tools, and regulations to keep our programs best-in-class

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in email marketing, including ownership of strategy and execution
  • 3+ years of experience managing a team, with a track record of mentoring and growing talent
  • Hands-on experience with Marketo and Salesforce (required)
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities across global teams
  • Experience working with global stakeholders and teams across regions and languages
  • Deep understanding of email performance metrics, segmentation strategies, and customer journey development
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and present to senior leadership
  • Strong eye for detail in email QA, testing, and user experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high performance B2B SaaS organization
  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS for email and best practices in responsive email design
  • Experience integrating AI or personalization tools into email workflows
  • Proven ability to scale programs across regions and languages
  • Proficiency with Asana or other project management tools

About you:

  • Strategic & hands-on: You can lead vision and strategy but are equally comfortable jumping into the tools and being a player-coach
  • Customer-centric: You think deeply about the recipient experience and aim to create helpful, meaningful messages
  • Data-driven: You know what to track, how to measure it, and how to iterate for impact
  • Team builder: You love building great teams and empowering others to thrive
  • Innovative: You bring creative ideas to the table and are always looking to test, learn, and improve

Get in on all the awesome at Instructure:

  • Competitive salary and 401k.
  • Medical, dental, disability, and life insurance.
  • HSA program, vision, voluntary life, and AD&D.
  • Tuition reimbursement.
  • Paid time off, 11 paid holidays, and flexible work schedules.
  • LifeStyle Spending Account
