Pay Range: $15.00-$18.00/Hour

Summary:
The Safety & Security Intern provides support on a wide variety of special projects relating to safety and security programs, initiatives, and projects. The Intern will obtain valuable experience within a wide variety of areas, including Flight Safety, Stations Safety, Inflight Safety, Security, Drug & Alcohol, OSHA/EPA, and Regulatory Compliance.

Minimum Requirements:
Combination of Education and Experience will be considered. Must be authorized to work in the US as defined by the Immigration Act of 1986. Must pass a Criminal Background Check.

Education:
High School Diploma/GED

Education Details:
To be qualified to apply, intern candidates must be currently enrolled in a college or university, or have graduated within the last six months, with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Enrolled in an accredited university with preference given to candidates that have completed a least two (2) years of university-level coursework.

Proficient in Microsoft office products.

Quick learner/team-oriented, attention to detail, and organization.

Demonstrated ability to interact with all organizational levels; business etiquette.

Exercise good judgment and work well under pressure.

Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to think out of the box.

Ability to handle sensitive information with ease and tact.

Job Duties:
Assist with company safety and security initiatives to drive compliance, efficiency, and adherence to goals and objectives.

Work with multiple departmental teams to perform data analysis, investigations, and safety promotion activities.

Company’s Safety & Security Intranet site updates.

Assist with the HQ Monthly Safety Inspection.

Process and coordinate safety communications and responses.

Assist with processing safety event reports and conducting investigations to develop company mitigations.

Assist with security data processing, investigation, and communications with federal regulators.

Assist the Managers of Quality Assurance and IEP with audits and evaluations relevant to airline operations.

Assist the Manager of Flight Safety with Flight Operations Line Observation Safety Assessment (LOSA) activities and airport risk assessments.

Office - While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, see, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, key board, printer, and phone. May be required to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 20 lbs. May be required to work various shifts/days in a 24-hour situation. Regular attendance is a requirement of the role. Exposure to moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phones, printers, and foot traffic), temperature and light fluctuations. Ability to work in a confined area as well as the ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time. Some travel may be a requirement of the role.
