As a Civil Structural Intern at ITAC, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in the field of civil and structural engineering. You will work alongside experienced professionals, contributing to innovative projects that make a real impact in various industries, including power generation & utilities, chemicals, and advanced manufacturing. This internship is designed to provide you with a comprehensive understanding of engineering practices while enhancing your technical skills.

Note: This position is located in Raleigh, NC. ITAC does not offer housing or housing stipends for interns so all candidates will need to be local or have arranged their own housing.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and development of civil and structural engineering projects.
  • Support the analysis and calculations for various structural components and systems.
  • Aid in preparing technical documents, drawings, and specifications.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure effective communication and project coordination.
  • Participate in site inspections to observe construction practices and compliance with design specifications.
  • Contribute to the improvement of engineering standards and procedures.
  • Engage in learning opportunities to enhance your understanding of real-world engineering challenges.
  • Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Basic understanding of civil and structural engineering principles.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and other design software is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
  • Availability for full-time internship (typically during summer or semester).
