This stability has allowed our mission to remain true and consistent.Job DetailsPosition SummaryThe Maintenance Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing all maintenance operations including installation of equipment, preventive maintenance and repair work. This includes the maintenance of buildings, grounds, production machinery, electrical/and mechanical equipment, steam boilers, and refrigeration systems. Responsibilities includes negotiation with outside contractors for the purchase of maintenance parts and supplies, continuous improvement on processes, service, cost efficiency and safety for an entire department across all shifts.Position Responsibilities• Supervises subordinate employees and contractors in such classifications as maintenance electrician, maintenance mechanic, maintenance planner, fabricator, facilities repair, etc.• Supervises subordinate employees in activities such as equipment troubleshooting, equipment repair, plumbing, electrical installation, electrical repair, etc.• Maintains company buildings in good repair while recommending and completing facility improvements.• Participates in the purchase, installation, and overhauling of major operating equipment such as packaging equipment, stuffers, grinders, mixers, smokehouses, boilers and refrigeration equipment.• Maintains work order, plant improvement, and PM programs and assigns work as necessary.• Conducts training and maintains records regarding safety and compliance with regulatory agencies.• Ensures compliance to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), National Electrical Code (NEC), and United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) regulations.• Ensures the safety and integrity of all manufactured products to avoid cross-contamination.• Inspects maintenance jobs performed by subordinate employees or outside contractors for quality and adherence to job specs.• Ensures Preventative Predictive Maintenance (PPM) work orders are assigned and audits work completed• Identifies and tracks the skills training and development needs of each team member and ensures assignments of mechanics to specific jobs are relative to individual abilities.• Ensures that good housekeeping and safe work practices are followed throughout the facility.• Provides support and leadership in troubleshooting equipment.Position Requirements• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related degree with relevant experience or 10+ years of technical experience in the food industry dealing with preventative/predictive maintenance process, technical guidance and development of the maintenance workforce.• Ability to think quickly, take initiative, think creatively and challenge the team.• Ability to work in an unstructured environment while making decisions quickly.• Demonstrated ability to work in a results-oriented, challenging environment.• Strong leadership skills with the ability to get results through mentoring others.• Excellent communication skills.Interested in hearing more?
