In this role, your efforts will have a direct impact on patient access to transformational cell and gene therapies in the J&J Innovative Medicine Oncology and Retina portfolios. As Counsel, you will report to the Assistant General Counsel, Advanced Therapies Supply Chain.The Senior Counsel will have the opportunity to deliver strategic counsel for complex life sciences supply chain transactions involving supplier engagements for cell and gene therapies, including agreements for CAR-T drug product, raw materials, viral vectors, plasmids, cell collection and cryopreservation services. You would be part of significant stakeholder inputs on strategic and operational decisions, and engage with Procurement, Partnership & External Supply, Discovery, Product Development & Supply and Alliance Management.Qualifications:• If US based: licensed attorney; if based in Europe: law degree with at least one bar admission (supplementary degree or LLM is considered an asset)• A minimum 6-9 years of relevant legal experience is required.• Experience managing, drafting, and negotiating complex international agreements, in-house at a multi-national corporation, or at a large or mid-sized reputable law firm is required.• Relevant legal experience in the life science or pharmaceutical industry is required.• Proven track record of anticipating, assessing, and mitigating legal risk.• Proven ability to provide outstanding legal services to, and interact with, a range of senior executives and demonstrated ability to function as a legal business partner, providing strategic and solutions-oriented counsel.• Excellent strategic and analytical skills with a proven ability to adjust and thrive in an ambiguous and rapidly changing environment.• Ability to take a pragmatic approach, with a willingness to proactively engage with business colleagues to find solutions and implement action plans that are sustainable.• An ability to support multiple complex transactions and projects simultaneously.The base pay range for this position is $118,000-$203,550.The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/ performance year.
