Position Summary

Reporting to the Sr Trader Director, the Dairy Junior Trader will be primarily responsible for supporting trade execution and inventory management of the Business To Business (B2B) dairy portfolio. Essential job functions include B2B procurement and sales, as well as contract execution. The successful candidate will possess strong relationship and negotiation skills required to earn and keep business. A high level of attention to detail and follow up to ensure strategy is executed properly will be vital in ensuring success in this role.

The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, the ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships and be able to generate insights for the business.

Position Responsibilities

  • Support execution of the Dairy trading plan.
  • Responsible for the optimization of product deliveries based on inventory planning, product specification, and customer application.
  • Develop deep understanding of products and applications.
  • Develop and manage relationships with suppliers and customers within the dairy space.
  • Execute purchases and sales of dairy ingredients.
  • Develop and foster supplier and customer retention by ensuring value delivery.
  • Work closely with logistics and operations team to ensure smooth execution of contracts.
  • Expand market presence within the industry by participating in industry forums.
  • Manage contract execution and credit management through rigorous process control.
  • Identify new market opportunities for business that will improve overall profitability.
  • Create Weekly market reports and information database for internal stakeholders.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree is required, preferably in Marketing, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • One (1) year of experience in B2B selling is required. Previous experience in commodities is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail is required.
  • Must be able to problem solve and handle multiple tasks effectively.
  • Highly skilled deal negotiation is preferred.
  • Ability to develop and maintain a strong network of marketing and trading counterparties is required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including verbal and written, are required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, including but not limited to Excel, Outlook, and Word, is required.
  • Previous working exposure to domestic and/or international logistics is preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, effectively managing workload to meet deadlines, while ensuring a high standard of quality is required.
  • Willingness and ability to travel, at times up to 25%

The pay for this role in the state of CA ranges from $65,000 – $83,000 and is based on the position responsibilities and geographic location. Actual pay within this range may be determined based on candidate's experience, qualifications and/or other determining factors.
