About the Role

Kiva AI is building the next generation of foundation for AI applications. We’re seeking an experienced AI Researcher to join our team. This person will play a pivotal role in building specialized AI models to empower applications for our global customers. You will be at the forefront of developing state-of-the-art language models with a strong emphasis on multilingual capabilities. You’ll partner closely with the CEO and Product and Engineering teams to transform customer needs into high-performing, impactful AI solutions.

• Develop and build specialized language and multimodal models to meet customer needs.
• Stay ahead of the latest AI trends and innovations, advising on the integration of cutting-edge technologies.
• Optimize model performance for scalability, accuracy, and efficiency across diverse use cases.
• Lead research initiatives and contribute to the AI knowledge base through publications, papers, and open-source contributions.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product and engineering, to align AI solutions with business goals.
• Engage with external partners, research communities, and conferences to showcase Kiva.ai’s innovations and extend the company’s influence in the AI ecosystem.

• PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related technical field, or equivalent industry experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience building, deploying, and evaluating production-ready AI models, preferably in a startup or technology company environment.
• Track record of publishing in top-tier peer-reviewed AI conferences or journals.
• Proven expertise in natural language processing, including areas such as text classification, named entity recognition, and language generation.
• Proficiency in Python and experience with AI frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to articulate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Eagerness to stay ahead of emerging trends and contribute to the broader AI research community.

• Proven experience working with multilingual NLP models.
• Research expertise in post pre-training methodologies, such as SFT, RLHF, and evaluations.
• Strong familiarity with cloud-based platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Prior experience in a startup environment.
