Overview:Knowledge Services is seeking a Security Operation Center (SOC) Security Consultant for a contract through the end of June 2025 (likely for extension) with the State of Maine Office of Technology.Applicants are able to work 100% remotely, but must have prior State government experience.Responsibilities:Security Operation Center (SOC) Security Consultant Responsibilities:This position will be responsible for evaluating and enhancing the security posture of the State of Maine through expert analysis, strategic recommendations, and implementation of robust cybersecurity measures.The candidate will possess deep technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing security vulnerabilities.The position will also support the SOC Team Leads and the Security Operations Manager in adequately meeting and addressing the operational demands within the SOCQualifications:Security Operation Center (SOC) Security Consultant Required Skills:Must have at least 5 years of information security consulting experience in cybersecurity consulting, information security, or a related field, with a proven track record of successful project delivery and client engagement.Must have experience with Incident ResponseMust have experience with Engineering Security ProtocolsPossess strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, risk management, threat intelligence, network security, and incident response.Proficiency with security tools and technologies (e.g., firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, encryption).We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
