About Kraken Field


We’re making converting homes to green electrons as simple as possible, by building a platform to allow engineers to install smart meters, solar panels, heat pumps, EV chargers, and more.


We’re busy launching in new countries, working with ever more engineers and tech partners, building exciting new features at scale, and creating the integrated solution to retrofit homes across the world - all in the name of making it as easy and cheap as possible for customers to go green.


Kraken Field is a multifunctional, multinational team made up of product, backend, design, mobile, web and more - all focused together on making Octopus the go-to name in green home installations. And we’re looking for smart individuals with an interest in the space who can help us make it happen.


About the Product Group


You'll be working within Kraken Field, our best-in-class engineering and field management solution tailored for the utilities market. Specifically, you'll focus on Operations Control, which encompasses our back-end web application enabling Operations users to support the business effectively. This includes areas such as scheduling, reporting, user management, document generation, project management, security processes, and job management. 


What you'll do:
  • Leadership & Influence
  • Collaborate with Engineering Team Leads to create a strong sense of purpose and mission
  • Become the go-to expert for specific product areas within your development team
  • Align product strategy within Technology, representing the vision and priorities of your division
  • Champion customer needs across departments and engineering teams
  • Make effective, well-reasoned decisions using appropriate tools and methodologies

  • Product Knowledge

  • Drive the product vision and ensure the roadmap aligns with overall goals
  • Understand how your product integrates with the broader Kraken platform
  • Provide product expertise based on a comprehensive understanding of platform capabilities
  • Engage stakeholders to gather user feedback for continuous product refinement
  • Define scope and prioritise stories to maximise business value
  • Measure and understand key business drivers for your product domain

  • Insight & Innovation

  • Identify opportunities for incremental value in achieving product goals
  • Collaborate with other Product Managers to improve processes and policies
  • Monitor progress and make strategic adjustments to enhance the product
  • Contribute to documentation for new feature releasesShare product knowledge, insights, and tools proactively
  • Maintain and develop necessary skills to fulfil product realisation responsibilities

  • Analyse user, system, and customer behaviour using multiple data sources
  • Promote best practices in tracking, analysis, and data-driven problem-solving

What you'll need:
  • Key Experience
  • Relevant industry experience in Hardware, Product Management, WMS, or Asset Management
  • Proven experience managing products built by engineering teamsKnowledge of working across multiple functional areas (product management, engineering, UX/UI)
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, manage, track, and deliver on commitments
  • Capability to work effectively in a team and autonomously
  • Skill in handling multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience defining product roadmaps, collaborating with design and engineering peers, and shipping at scale
  • Proficiency in capturing, documenting, and communicating requirements to support product realisation

We would prefer someone who can work in our London, Manchester or Brighton but will consider remote candidates. However, you do need to be able to work in the UK.
