Title: Laboratory Technician
Job summary:
In this role, you will be responsible for the workshop/laboratory operations for integration of vehicle ECU hardware and software. Responsibilities will include development and execution of tests based on requirements, analysis of the test results, development of harnesses and vehicle loads and diagnosis/ troubleshooting of software, hardware, and wiring issues.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Develop the necessary harnesses/mating connectors and vehicle loads to support automated and/or bench validation Assemble and build the HIL setup Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and wiring issues to support validation Explore on-vehicle testing possibilities Lab asset management and maintenance, soldering, pin diagram creations, 5S compliance, things going in and out Manage overall vehicle operations. Assembling/disassembling parts/subsystems from vehicle, benchmarking, tear down activities, vehicle maintenance Drain out/refill oil Performs root-cause analysis on findings as needed to determine the next step and communicate determinations to cross functional Team (e.g. calibration issue, software issue, controller hardware issue, vehicle hardware issue, etc.) Interfaces with larger team as needed (Powertrain Calibration Team, Electrical Engineering Component Lead, and the Embedded Electrical System Lead) to resolve findings depending on root-cause Flexible to work in a new and growing environment Other duties as required
Preferred Skills:
Simulate vehicle components such as sensors, switches, and actuators Understand vehicle requirements. Plan test sessions using existing validation plans and/or develops new test cases to validate the requirements of all controllers for vehicle projects Experience with in-vehicular communication networks like CAN, J1939, etc. is a strong plus Familiarity with requirement and test case management in any requirement/software development database application as well as configuration management
Required Experience:
Diploma/technical degree in electrical/electronic technician desired. Other degrees in areas such as automotive or mechanical technician are acceptable with electrical work experience. Work experience with electrical systems will be considered in lieu of a degree. Total experience of 3 years Experience with electrical vehicle systems Experience in effective problem solving and troubleshooting Excellent communication skills required
