About this position:

Later is looking for a dynamic Senior PR Manager who combines strategic thinking with a flair for public relations. If you excel in media relations, content creation, and have a pulse on the influencer marketing industry, you might be the perfect fit for our team.

In this role, you'll be the architect of our brand's public image, crafting strategies that establish Later as an authority in the influencer marketing and social media marketing space. You'll work closely with our executive team and internal stakeholders to create compelling narratives that resonate with our audience and the media.

As our Senior PR Manager, you'll be responsible for a range of tasks from developing thought leadership content to managing media relations. Your ability to identify and capitalize on media opportunities will be crucial, as will your knack for measuring the impact of PR campaigns through data and analytics.

We're looking for someone with a proven track record in PR, particularly in a tech or marketing environment. You should possess exceptional writing skills, a deep understanding of media dynamics, and the agility to adapt to the evolving digital landscape. Collaboration is key in this role, as you'll be working with various teams to ensure a cohesive communication strategy.

What you'll be doing:

PR Strategy & Leadership 

  • Develop and execute comprehensive PR strategies aligning with organizational goals. 
  • Collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams, especially content, and SEO, to ensure cohesive strategy, brand positioning and messaging.
  • Provide strategic counsel to executive leadership on communication matters.
  • Be a strong voice for the brand internally and externally.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture on the Marketing Team.

Media Relations

  • Cultivate relationships with tier-one business, tech, and industry press to secure positive earned media coverage.
  • Handle complex media inquiries and professionally manage press events. 
  • Expand existing media relations through targeted outreach in marketing, tech, and business sectors.
  • Manage Later.com Newsroom, supporting Media Kit materials and developing multimedia materials for enhanced media engagement.

Crisis Management 

  • Lead crisis communication efforts, demonstrating poise and expertise.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive crisis communication plan that includes key messaging, response protocols, and designated spokespersons.
  • Conduct regular crisis drills and simulations to ensure the team is well-prepared to handle various scenarios.
  • Lead strategy and collaborate with Social, Customer Services, Community and Email Teams to ensure crossfunctional messaging at times of crisis.

Content Strategy and Creation

  • Establish the overarching PR/Communications content calendar, aligning it with defined content pillars that directly support company goals and objectives.
    • Work closely with the Content Marketing and SEO teams to align on PR initiatives
    • Collaborate with the Research and Data Teams to identify media opportunities for data storytelling and industry report content creation.
  • Develop and execute the overarching PR/Communications calendar, ensuring seamless integration with the established PR content pillars.
    • Independently support content creation for various channels, including press releases, blogs, thought leadership articles, social media posts, and newsletters.
  • Pitching and creating articles for earned, owned, and sponsored opportunities and holistically managing news announcements.
  • Monitor trends and optimize content for better search engine rankings, visibility and media pickup. 

Thought Leadership Strategy

  • Establish Later as an authority in the Influencer and Social Marketing space.
    • Proactively engage with media outlets, pitching company insights, quotes, and statistics to secure impactful coverage.
    • Build and maintain a catalog of internal thought leaders, fostering a pool of experts for media outreach initiatives.
    • Formulate a comprehensive strategy for identifying and applying for relevant industry awards, amplifying our brand's credibility.
  • Lead and execute on Executive Thought Leadership strategies for key Later executives. 
    • Elevate the profiles of key Later executives, with a particular focus on LinkedIn and social media strategies.
    • Identify and secure speaking opportunities at conferences, industry events, webinars, and podcasts to position executives as authoritative voices in the field.
    • Secure tier-one media and industry press coverage for our key leaders, enhancing their visibility and influence.
    • Ghostwrite and assist in publishing thought leadership content, ensuring a consistent and impactful narrative aligned with executive personas.

Monitoring & Analysis

  • Utilize analytics to measure the impact of PR campaigns and provide strategic insights.Implement data-driven improvements and optimizations in PR strategies.Provide detailed reports and strategic analysis on key performance indicators and campaign effectiveness.
  • Utilize media monitoring tools to track and analyze conversations, including during crises.
  • Provide real-time insights to leadership on emerging issues, sentiment, and public perception.

  • 6 + years of experience in public relations, media relations, and thought leadership, ideally in the Tech or Marketing industry
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful PR campaigns across traditional and digital media channels.
  • Proven experience with Executive Thought Leadership strategy and content creation is required
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business objectives into PR initiatives.
  • Crisis management experience and the ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion and professionalism.
  • Proficiency in PR software and tools for media monitoring, analytics, and reporting.
  • Strong relationships with relevant media outlets and influencers. 
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of social media, SEO principles, and digital marketing strategies.

Our approach to compensation:

We take a market-based & data-driven approach to compensation. We leverage data from trusted third-party compensation sources to help us understand the market value of a role based on function, level, geographic location, and scope. We evaluate compensation bi-annually, including performance and market-related factors.

Our salaries are benchmarked against market Total Cash Compensation for the geographic location of our job posting. Compensation for some roles is structured as On Target Earnings (OTE = base + commission/variable) while for others it is structured as Salary only.

To comply with local legislation and ensure transparency, we share salary ranges on all job postings. Skills, experience and other factors help determine the final salary we offer which may vary from the original range posted. 

Additionally, all permanent team members are granted stock options and are eligible to participate in various benefits plans as part of their overall compensation package.

Salary Range:  $130,000 - $145,000 USD
