About the role


The world of incentive compensation management is incredibly complex so we need strong design leaders to bring simplicity to the market. As the Lead Brand Designer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and communicating our brand visual identity across various channels. There’s a lot of opportunities for you to have a major impact on CaptivateIQ's brand creative strategy, by developing creative processes to launch marketing campaigns, and executing world-class visual design that effectively conveys our company's values, mission, and product offerings.


What You’ll Be Doing:


  • Leadership
  • Support the evolution of CaptivateIQ’s brand visual identity and how we visually represent our brand everywhere.
  • Develop our brand design aesthetic and have an informed POV on who we are and how that is reflected visually.
  • Lead the development of our brand visual identity, ensuring consistency and coherence across all touchpoints.
  • Oversee external design agencies and contractors to extend our design production engine.
  • Ensure that all brand touchpoints convey a consistent visual identity and maintain high standards of design excellence.


  • Execute
  • Create and maintain brand guidelines, ensuring that they are followed consistently in all design materials.
  • Create and own brand visual systems that allow the marketing team to scale and ship creative quickly, reliably and without compromising the brand's look and feel.
  • Design and produce high-quality visual assets for various marketing and communication channels, including website, social media, presentations, print materials, and more.


  • Collaboration
  • Collaborate with marketers to provide strategic thought partnership around the best creative ideas.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as product, marketing, and engineering, to produce high-quality, on-brand designs for a wide range of initiatives and projects (concept campaigns, evergreen communications, and launch announcements that support new products and features).


  • Communication
  • Present design concepts and strategies to stakeholders, explaining the rationale behind design decisions and incorporating feedback to iterate and improve designs.
  • Design and create engaging and impactful presentations for internal and external use.


What We Look For In you:


  • 8+ years of professional visual design and web design expertise, with a focus on brand.
  • Extensive creative experience, including both agency and in-house roles.
  • A track record of conceptualizing and executing impactful creative ideas that generate excitement and enthusiasm.
  • Impressive portfolio showcasing a range of design skills, including brand identity work, marketing collateral, web design, and various creative projects.
  • Proven experience as a creative lead, preferably within a B2B SaaS startup or technology-driven organization.
  • Adaptability and agility in fast-paced environments.
  • Expert proficiency in industry-standard design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma, and others.
  • Strong understanding of design principles and marketing psychology, including typography, color theory, and layout techniques. 
  • Keen eye for design and unwavering commitment to delivering world-class quality.
  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and presentation abilities, with the talent to articulate design concepts and decisions effectively.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally in a dynamic startup setting.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, proactive, assertive, low ego, and daring, with a can-do attitude.
  • Confidence in managing relationships with external partners, including studios, photographers, videographers, illustrators, and designers.


$110,000 - $130,000 a year


CaptivateIQ takes a market-based approach to pay, and the base salary range for this job posting shows the minimum and maximum target starting base salary across all US locations. The successful candidate’s starting base salary will be determined based on the candidate’s job-related skills, relevant experience, education, work location, market conditions, and other factors. This range may be modified in the future. Certain positions may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, and other benefits.
