Security Operation Center Analyst Intern

DescriptionLeidos is looking for a Security Operation Center Analyst intern to assist in security operation, data analytics and event monitoring.Primary Responsibilities- Monitor and analyze alerts in Microsoft Sentinel SIEM- Maintain awareness of devices and data feeds in the Microsoft Sentinel SIEM- Assist SOC analysts in a supporting role in Incident analysis- Perform security scans, analyze scan results, and document findings for products as required to successfully complete continuous monitoring. Scan results and findings are to be documented according to NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes.- Assist in development and maintenance of system security documentation, assisting with the implementation of security procedures, and verify information system security requirements.Basic Qualifications- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program as a junior or senior in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technology field with a minimum 3.5 GPA.- Must possess excellent writing and communications skills; candidate shall have the ability to develop documentation and presentation and present the materials to the team lead.- Technical understanding of supporting security initiatives, conducting security monitoring, reporting and maintaining security compliance following security regulations and policies.- Demonstrate potential and willingness to learn and adapt to rapid changes in technology- Requires US Citizenship with the ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance- Located in the DC Metro Area.Preferred Qualifications- IT or security certifications in Linux, Windows, network and security.- Hands-on experience with Linux, Windows Server Operating System or networking.- Experience with Information Technology hardware & software support and troubleshooting.- Experience with operating IT security tools.- Data search and parsing using basic data analytics skills.Original Posting Date:2024-12-18While subject to change based on business needs, Leidos reasonably anticipates that this job requisition will remain open for at least 3 days with an anticipated close date of no earlier than 3 days after the original posting date as listed above.Pay Range:Pay Range $46,800.00 - $84,600.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
