ResponsibilitiesThe Database Administrator will provide support to the customer by administering databases and/or data management systems that allow for the storage, query, and utilization of data. You will work as part of a team with other contractors, government civilians, and military personnel in an agile environment.ResponsibilitiesThe Database Administrator duties may include: Managing data input from various stakeholders and skilled in presenting/managing data using commercial tools. Exercising audit readiness necessary to perform the following activities: Enhance systems materiel data harvesting and implementing metrics reporting tools to support lifecycle management decision-making. Enhance asset data automation and metrics reporting tools to enable informed decision-making throughout the lifecycle management process. Create dashboarding capabilities to visualize program status to improve decision making capability and audit outcomes dashboard utilizing ADVANA. Identifying structured and unstructured logistics sustainment data (different formats/structure/file types) and develop an approach to enable DoD organizations to upload, search, and access relevant supply chain and maintenance data for future data mining actions (data manipulations, analytics, etc.). Determine and document data sharing pathways and bilateral agreements. Addressing intellectual property and technical data matters to enable supply support and maintenance planning. Providing technical support and solutioning to government data requirements out of prime vendor systems. Identify data consolidation opportunities across database systems, including data sharing and access between business lines. Interact professionally with clients/internal teams; gather requirements and document the work in a ticketing system, designing and implementing new feature additions and improvements. Utilize industry standard tools such as Gitlab for code version control, project management, product requirements, and user documentation. Work directly with the customer to gather requirements and product feedback for future iterations. Support capabilities briefings for military personnel. Strong ability to analyze business requirements and create solutions. Ability to troubleshoot problems and provide timely resolutions. Clearly communicate with product owners to understand business concerns and demonstrate proposed solutions for acceptance. High energy, enthusiasm, tact, ability to effectively interact with senior executives from Government and industry. Ability to create and foster a cooperative work environment. Self-directed, detail oriented in completing assigned tasks, able to adapt to changing work efforts and manage impact of shifting priorities. Availability for occasional travel.Core KSATs for DoD Cyber Workforce (DCWF): Knowledge of computer networking concepts and protocols, and network security methodologies. Knowledge of risk management processes (e.g., methods for assessing and mitigating risk). Knowledge of national and international laws, regulations, policies, and ethics as they relate to cybersecurity. Knowledge of cybersecurity principles. Knowledge of cyber threats and vulnerabilities. Knowledge of specific operational impacts of cybersecurity lapses. Knowledge of cloud computing service models Software as a Service (SaaS), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), and Platform as a Service (PaaS). Knowledge of cloud computing deployment models in private, public, and hybrid environment and the difference between on-premises and off-premises environments.Qualifications DOD Cyber Workforce (DCWF) 8140 (421) Database Administrator role: A BS degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or Computer Science, from an ABET accredited or CAE designated institution fulfills the educational requirement for this WRC (conferred within 5 years or able to prove continuous relevant work experience) -OR- Personnel Certifications: Cloud+ or SSCP or Security+ or GSEC. If none, must be willing to obtain in first 30-days. 4+ years of database administration experience. 4+ years of experience with DoD business systems, preferably with F-35, Dept. of Navy, Dept. of Air Force, or DLA systems. Experience in data backups, types of backups (e.g., full, incremental), and recovery concepts and tools. Knowledge of database management systems, query languages, table relationships, and views. Knowledge of query languages such as SQL (structured query language). Experience in maintaining databases. Experience in optimizing database performance. Experience in analyzing and planning for anticipated changes in data capacity requirements. Experience in maintaining database management systems software. Knowledge of database access application programming interfaces (APIs) (e.g., Java Database Connectivity [JDBC]). Experience of how to collect, store, and monitor data. Demonstrated ability to use MS Office Suite to include Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Superior communication skills, both oral and written. Active Secret clearance required.
