Location: Toronto Office (Lakeshore and Bathurst)


Hybrid Work Policy: 4 Days/Week onsite and 1 Day/Week remote

 As Creative Strategist you will be responsible for designing all internal and external facing design collateral for Loblaw Advance, our retail media business that powers advertising experiences across all of Loblaw’s digital and in-store channels. In this role, you will create sales presentation materials, market-facing collateral that will help grow our brand (social media, case studies, web content, newsletters, events, thought leadership content), and provide design support for product marketing initiatives. You have impeccable creative and technical skills (Adobe, Powerpoint, Figma), thrive while supporting teams with visual storytelling, and can manage complex concepts and stakeholder groups to see projects from big-picture ideation through to best-in-class completion. You’re a self-starter with experience designing marketing collateral for a modern and innovative brand, and can help mature and iterate on brand standards across all channels. Reporting to the Director of Digital Experience, you are the sole design hero responsible for supporting the growing Loblaw Advance team and vision while working within, and leveraging, a talented group of Digital Experience experts across Marketing, Design, Copywriting, Project Management and Production.


What you'll do
  • Lead creative intake and ideation sessions for Loblaw Advance, gathering requirements and workshopping solutions with your peers and stakeholders
  • Create and execute design concepts, present to stakeholders, gather feedback, iterate, and ship best-in-class marketing solutions
  • Support the Loblaw Advance sales teams in generating custom creative and content when required, with the aim of equipping them to grow our accounts
  • Ensure that your design work is consistent with our brand guidelines, and contribute to those guidelines as necessary
  • Be accountable for brand consistency across all assets created for the brand
  • Work closely and collaboratively with the Director of Digital Experience, and Marketing Managers on Loblaw Advance to support design needs and ad-hoc requests
  • Design all social media assets, hiring assets, and internal event collateral and swag for the brand
  • Be detailed in your organization of projects, including managing project briefs, output specs, deadlines, collaborative files, critiques, etc.
  • Balance and manage your own workload according to the established business priorities and timelines


Does this sound like you?
  • 5+ years in digital design creating digital marketing collateral, presentations, and editorial designs
  • A strong portfolio – only those with a portfolio will be considered
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Powerpoint
  • Proficiency in Figma
  • Knowledge of digital design process and best practices, including image optimization, responsive design, and basic HTML and CSS.
  • Mastery of typography
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently and operate in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Open-minded and able to use constructive feedback.
  • Proficiency in French is an asset
  • Proficiency in motion design/video editing is an asset
