Job Overview:

 

Lord Abbett is seeking a talented and experienced finance professional to join our team as the Treasury Billing Lead. Treasury is responsible for maintaining the firm’s financial stability through oversight of its balance sheet, liquidity, and capital resources consistent with enterprise objectives and initiatives. Reporting to the Treasurer, the Treasury Billing Lead will play a key role in this evolving team in its journey towards becoming a world-class function and strategic partner for the firm. The Lead will support the Treasurer by overseeing our client billing function for our Institutional & SMA business lines. This includes developing a strategy for the billing function itself, as well as managing the end-to-end billing process, including onboarding, account maintenance, fee calculations, invoicing, accruals, receivables, and revenue reconciliations. This role will work with key stakeholders across the firm including the CFO, the broader Finance team, Client Services, Product Strategy, Investments, Legal, Risk and technology partners.

We’ll trust you to:

  • Lead all aspects of our client billing operations for our Institutional & SMA businesses, which includes executing fee calculations, client invoicing, process ownership, and client & front-office communications.
  • Develop a comprehensive strategy to advance the evolution our billing function, enabling it to deliver operational excellence in support of the firm’s growth targets and scalability of the businesses.
  • Collaborate with key business and technology stakeholders to develop a data strategy for client revenue and deliver value-added analytics & management reporting dashboards.
  • Proactively seek opportunities to modernize revenue processes through automation and implementing new technology.
  • Manage revenue accounting responsibilities including fee accrual calculations, general ledger entries, fee reconciliation and forecasting.
  • Establish, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and controls to ensure adherence to company principles and best-in-class standards.
  • Create presentations & reporting dashboards for senior stakeholders such as the Managing Partner, CFO & other key leaders.
  • Interface with external and internal auditors as required.

You'll need to have:

  • 5-7 years of experience in the asset management industry
  • Prior billing or revenue management experience is required, and experience with revenue management technology such as Revport is a plus
  • Requires a solid understanding of accounting and financial reporting, particularly as it relates to the balance sheet and cash flow statements
  • Self-motivated individual with proven ability to work efficiently, effectively, and proactively both as part of a team and independently in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor as well as the ability to translate these complex analytical concepts into straightforward messages to enable strategic decision-making.
  • Intellectual curiosity and desire for continual personal and professional growth, with high standards of quality.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt to new systems and software quickly along with a keen attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Technical skills include: demonstrated proficiency and expertise with Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, Power Point); experience using data visualization (e.g. PowerBI) tools; familiarity with programming languages such as SQL, Python, SAS is desirable but not required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or similar areas of study.

Compensation Information: Annual base salary for this role is $120,000-$150,000. Salary is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different.

Discretionary Bonus: Role may be eligible to receive an annual discretionary bonus. Discretionary bonuses are determined by several factors including, but not limited to, firm, team, and individual performance.
