Marketing Communications Manager

The role:


The Marketing Communications Manager is responsible for the development and supervision of all marketing and communications strategies for Lumin. This individual will oversee the development of goals, strategies, and implementation plans to execute comprehensive marketing campaigns. The work helps ensure that marketing and its messaging are in line with corporate goals. The role focuses on attracting and maintaining a customer base by developing and implementing strategies to convey product and technical value.


You'll be responsible for:
  • Collaborating with sales or product team members to understand communication and marketing needs.
  • Proposing, drafting and implementing marketing communications campaigns and strategies for product and service introductions.
  • Defining and analyzing key performance indicators for marketing campaigns and activations.
  • Conducting market research and report on industry trends, opportunities and risks.
  • Providing creative direction and oversee execution of multimedia projects in alignment with the Lumin brand and voice.
  • Managing the creation of marketing and communications collateral to ensure that it is consistent with the organization's brand, including ads, videos, scripts, talking points, sales collateral and presentations.
  • Oversee marketing department workflow and coordinate cross functionally to ensure business objectives and deadlines are met.
  • Assisting with digital marketing initiatives including website enhancements, email marketing, social media and blogs.
  • Supporting the coordination of large-scale company events, trade shows and conferences and create marketing plans that support meeting goals.


What you bring to the table:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, or related field.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage concurrent projects and priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Superb public speaking skills.
  • Experience with developing customer archetypes and building journeys for different audiences.
  • Ability to create, implement and monitor budgets.
  • Familiarity or experience working with Salesforce applications.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with social media scheduling software, email marketing software and Salesforce a plus.
  • Previous experience in solar, storage, clean energy, electrification or grid services is a plus.

This person will be expected to make occasional trips (2-3) to the Charlottesville office, in coordination between the employee and manager. This person may also be asked to attend 2-3 Lumin sponsored events throughout the year.  


The US base salary range for this full-time position is $88,000-$148,000 + equity + benefits. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: transferable skills, work experience, business needs, market demands, and years of experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process. Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits.
