Hardware Trading Analyst

Company Background


The Luxor team has built a range of solutions for Bitcoin mining and compute power, including a globally distributed mining pool, firmware, an ASIC brokerage desk and RFQ platform, a wide variety of blockchain software, as well as Hashrate derivatives markets and tools. In Q3-2024 we launched our principal Hardware Trading Desk, and as such we are looking for an analyst to help build investment thesis and trading decisions for ASICs and GPUs.

This role will report to our Head of Hardware. This is a remote role. The candidate must be based in the Americas time zone.


Requirements:
  • Background in finance and trading.
  • Strong financial modeling experience.
  • Trading background both professionally and personally.
  • Working knowledge of crypto mining, ASICs, GPUs and CPUs.
  • Resourcefulness and self-starter mentality.
  • Interest in Bitcoin Mining, Cloud and Data Centre industry.


Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with our China and US sales team to understand market trends and key supply and demand dynamics of various ASICs and other hardware models.
  • Execute trades on ASIC-related products, including GPUs, CPUs, mining equipment, and derivatives contracts.
  • Develop and implement trading strategies to optimize profitability while managing risks.
  • Analyze market data and trading performance to refine strategies and improve execution efficiency.
  • Identify, quantify, and mitigate trading risks using hedging strategies and analytics. Cross coordinate with our hashrate derivatives team.
  • Stay updated on global regulations affecting ASIC trading including customs, duties, tariffs and other shipping related events.
  • Develop and maintain acquisition pipeline and database to track ASIC-related trading metrics, profitability, and inventory levels.
  • Provide financial models, regular reports, and analyses to stakeholders detailing market conditions, trading performance, and emerging opportunities.
  • Assist in transaction due diligence and coordinating third-party vendors.
