The HITL Engineer will play a key role in integrating hardware systems with simulation environments to validate and verify the performance, functionality, and reliability of our vehicle's components, sensors, and control systems in real-world conditions. This role offers the opportunity to work on mission-critical systems that combine hardware and software in unique, challenging environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Integrate real hardware components with simulation systems to ensure accurate and effective testing of the vehicles under controlled conditions.
Develop test plans, procedures, and reports to communicate test results to stakeholders.
Perform hardware and software integration, troubleshooting, and validation to ensure compliance with system performance and reliability requirements.
Collaborate with systems engineers, software developers, and other teams to ensure that hardware and simulation models are fully synchronized and function correctly in all testing scenarios.
Conduct detailed analysis of test results, identify issues, and suggest improvements to system performance, safety, and reliability.
Troubleshoot hardware components, including sensors, avionics, and communication systems, and collaborate with teams to resolve hardware/software integration issues.
Continuously improve HITL testing methodologies, tools, and processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Robotics, or a related field
3-5 years of experience in hardware-in-the-loop testing, control systems, or related areas
Hands-on experience with real-time simulation, hardware interfacing, and HIL testing for embedded systems.
Solid understanding of hardware integration processes, troubleshooting techniques, and system-level testing.
Ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment, collaborating with hardware, software, and systems engineering teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of simulation and emulation tools (e.g., VeriStand, LabVIEW) and real-time software platforms.
Background in space, aerospace, defense, avionics, or communications hardware for UAVs.
Experience with hardware test equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, logic analyzers, and other diagnostic tools.
