About this Position
The Mail Processor is responsible for sorting and preparing mail for delivery throughout the Primerica Corporate Headquarters. This role requires handling and lifting mail bins, stooping, bending and handling parcels. Additionally, the Mail Courier role interacts with stall across all levels of the organization. Individuals in the Mail Courier role must have a clean-driving history as picking up and delivering items in the company van is a part of the role. The Mail Courier must maintain good cross-functional working relationships, must be able to work independently, and should work well-under pressure and time constraints in particular after holidays and when mail is heavier than normal. The Mail Courier should have computer skills with the ability to maintain reports in Excel, Word or other Microsoft applications as needed. The individual must work well within a team setting and learn the various documents processed by the Image Technology Center. Finally, the Mail Courier will be cross-trained to use the OPEX scanner for opening and scanning mail to be imaged for other areas across the organization.
The Mail Courier will report to the Supervisor of Mail Services.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Helping to sort and prepare the mail for delivery
Deliver mail to mail areas, receptacles, and other designated areas
Retrieve mail from USPS
Obtain signatures from internal customers for specified deliveries
Lifting, carrying, and delivering bins of mail as well as packages of all sizes and leaving notices for packages that are undeliverable
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Fast learner with proven proficiency sorting mail with an ability to analyze, troubleshoot and resolve issues.
Quick grasp of systems involved in mail processing including OPEX scanner and counter.
Ability to provide timely updates to management and report any issues encountered.
Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with others.
Sound business related skills such as problem solving, team building, judgment and decisions making.
Excellent planning and organization skills.
Ability to work in a collaborative environment as well as independently with minimal supervision.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
High School Graduate; Some college desired
Product or industry-specific experience
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office
Ability to learn and utilize data analysis tools
