JOB SUMMARY:
Polaris is seeking a System Validation Lead to join a growing team in Global Electrical, Embedded, and Connected Systems Validation & Quality team with emphasis on Electrification validation. As an Electrification System Validation Lead, you will lead validation of hardware and software aspects for Polaris vehicles across multiple product lines. The role will lead the validation of the Electrification subsystem. Technical project management also required to keep key programs on track.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
• Manages Electrified Powertrain subsystem and component level validation of HW and SW including simulation and/or bench/vehicle testing, including interfacing with other validation engineers for execution. o Manage multiple system validation schedules and projects simultaneously. o Work with Global Validation Lead to ensure that best practices are followed across platforms. Develop best practices and supports development and refinement of process and procedures as required o Oversee component level validation plans based on hardware and software requirements and the desired functionality of the vehicle system. o Create test plans for systems validation. o Setup, execute, and analyze the results of the validation and report results to stakeholders. o Design benches and testing methods as needed to support system level validation. o Ensure that hardware validation is completed as required by suppliers or test labs. o Interfaces internally with cross-functional Polaris Teams and partners/suppliers as needed to ensure that system validation is met and to align release schedules o Ensure comprehensive validation planning between component/system/vehicle. • Updates Program Management and Product Teams on Electrified Powertrain system development schedule and production readiness status. • Familiarity with Product Development Process (PDP) stage gate development. Interacts with Program Management and Product Team during PDP phases. Understands and aligns development to meet internal customer needs. • Contributes to HARA/DFMEA and Functional Safety discussions. • Participates in activities such as failure investigations, root causes analysis and implementation of corrective actions, lessons learned, and consequently design standards update. • Supports optimization of design and manages re-use to serve multiple product lines and platform requirements in order to minimize development cycles.
SKILLS & KNOWLDGE
• B.S. in Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Engineering or equivalent • 4+ years of Validation and/or Systems Engineering experience • Experience with design and/or implementation of controls, especially related to vehicle controls/diagnostics/communication preferred • Experience with software and/or hardware validation efforts, and related documentation required. • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced development environment required • Experience in effective problem solving and troubleshooting required • Experience with communication networks required, CAN and J1939 strongly preferred • Experience with Electrification development preferred. • Experience in project management strongly preferred.
