Manager, People & Culture (Phoenix Corporate)

Macerich is looking for a talented and motivated professional with solid human resources fundamentals to join our People and Culture team in Phoenix. You will work with our internal department leaders on recruiting, compensation, performance management and employee engagement.

What You’ll Do

  • Performance Management – Support Department Managers with employee performance evaluations and improvement plans.
  • Manage Companywide Talent Acquisition Activities – Partner with Hiring Managers to compose job descriptions, set wage ranges, review candidates, schedule interviews and advise on offer for successful candidate.
  • Leaves and Accommodations – Manage employee’s utilization of Leave and Accommodation benefits by advising on corresponding short- and long-term disability benefits.
  • Office Services Team – Support local Office Services Team in managing office campus to provide all employees and tenants a safe, comfortable and productive work environment.
  • Compensation Review – Act as a resource for Department Managers to establish compensation guidance utilizing compensation data compiled by the team to ensure top talent is appropriately rewarded.
  • Employee Engagement – Participate in cross-functional employee teams as required to further Macerich Employee Engagement strategy.
  • Governmental Agency Compliance – Assist People and Culture team with compliance in all government mandates and requirements.
  • Benefit Resource – Assist in providing employees guidance in utilizing Macerich’s extensive health and welfare benefits offerings.
  • Team Resource – Assist as needed to meet the goals and strategies of the Company.

Your Key Success Attributes

  • Two to four years of practical experience in Human Resource Management.
  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite, in particular Excel, to create reports and information for Executive review and discussion.
  • Experience in working with issues of a confidential and/or sensitive nature.
  • Ability to creatively solve issues or resolve conflict.
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced and exciting team environment.
  • Awesome academic record and/or professional certification(s) in HR Management.
  • Working knowledge of California, New York and New Jersey Labor Laws.
  • Experience in working with of UKG or similar HRIS system.
  • Basic Health and Welfare Benefit Administration experience.
