Job Description:
OVERVIEW
The Manufacturing Team Leader provides safety and servant-based leadership to achieve breakthrough production results on a specific production shift. The Team Leader is accountable for driving out losses using rigorous Problem Solving and developing the plan for the shift. They will have ownership of Safety, Quality, and System Performance on their shift.Team Leaders lead, motivate, and develop employees to achieve outstanding manufacturing results, while leveraging Continuous Improvement (Lean/TPM) tools, improving individual skills, and enhancing teamwork.

The Manufacturing Team Leader will work a 12-hour schedule on a 3-2-2 that flips every week. Hours are 5pm - 5am.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Shift Owner- Manager of People on their shift
  • Owns Human and Food safety for the shift
  • Foster and environment where safety is a core value
  • Ensure that production facilities and finished products meet the company and government standards for quality, sanitation, and safety

  • Builds capability in production operators, in order to identify, measure and drive out losses on their equipment
  • Support the Line Team Improvement Plan and Glidepath
  • Owns identifying training gaps for the production operators on the shift as well as developing and ensuring execution of training plan to address these gaps
  • Owns shift DDS process including:
  • Leads meeting and communication process- including recognition of team members
  • Implementation and evolution of Planned Stops
  • Provide business leadership which demonstrates commitment to department and plant objectives on a day-to-day basis
  • Facilitate, coach, counsel, and guide the manufacturing work group to ensure that they can deliver results year over year through the use of continuous improvement tools and strategies
  • Function as a technical resource in areas of system operations and product requirements
  • Lead projects for the Thermal department including Human Safety, Food Safety
  • Daily Leadership and Critical Tasks

  • Temp employee management
  • Onboarding of employees
  • Team Development
  • Own accuracy and timeliness of performance metrics for shift
  • Sanitation, Start-up and changeover execution

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School diploma
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and listening skills
  • Ability to adjust to multiple demands, shifting work priorities, ambiguity, adversity and change
  • Demonstrated understanding of technology and providing solutions to technical challenges
  • Strong conceptual skills and ability to implement change
  • Sound analytical and business judgment including demonstrated problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills
  • Ability to plan, lead, and execute strategic initiatives in a complex environment
  • Mature approach to challenging situations and environments

  • Bachelor’s Degree
