Job Description

Primary Function of Position:

The Material Handler position is being added due to growth at Intuitive’s Blacksburg office and is responsible for material handling duties in support of Production operations, both Sustaining and NPI, and other internal customers. This position requires experience in warehousing operations, exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills, and strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Receiving materials, physically and systemically, to be used in production operations and engineering projects
• Shipping of controlled and uncontrolled materials
• Review vendor material documentation for accuracy
• Maintain stockroom organization
• Perform scheduled cycle counts and bi-annual 100% physical inventory counts
• Develop kitting methods for maximizing efficiency
• Perform material kitting for manufacturing work orders
• Replenish materials on manufacturing lines
• Fulfill and transact MT requests, received either electronically or via hard copy
• Ensure supplier managed inventory (SMI) stocking levels are maintained at defined levels
• Submit purchase requisitions for indirect material needs
• Coordinate review of non-conforming materials with material review board (MRB)
• Perform SAP transactions related to inventory
• Communicate the status of material movements to appropriate internal customers
• Comply with materials management policies and processes, including First In/ First Out (FIFO) material rotation, 5-S, Safety, Quality, and Good Warehousing/Housekeeping processes
• Identify opportunities for operational improvement, focusing on efficiency and quality
• Follow all corporate, safety and production procedures and regulations

Qualifications

Skills, Experience, Education & Training:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• AA or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school a plus
• Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Previous manufacturing experience with ERP systems required (SAP preferred)
• Minimum of 4 years of material handling and/or warehouse experience preferred
• Previous experience with ISO 9001, ISO 13485, or similar QMS
• Excellent attention to detail
• Good communication and documentation skills
• Ability to lift material up to 50 lbs
• Extensive walking and repetitive physical motion (squatting, bending, lifting) is require

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, benefits, and equity. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications. The target salary ranges are listed.

Base Salary Range Region 1:$47,100 - $63,700
Base Salary Range Region 2: $40,000 - $54,200
