Maxar is currently seeking a Systems Administrator to join our IT Storage & Virtualization team based in Westminster, Colorado. In this role, you will provide operational support for our enterprise storage & virtualization environments, partnering with other IT teams and members of the business. This will include ticket work, break/fix, assisting engineers with projects, patching, documentation, and other sustainment activities, including occasional on-call time.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must Be US Citizen

  • Requires Active TS/SCI with CI Poly.

  • Participate in an on-call rotation.

  • Proven experience as a Systems Administrator in an enterprise environment (2+ years)

  • Experience providing operational support for enterprise VMware environments (VCF, vRA, vROps, vCenter, etc.)

  • Experience providing operational support for enterprise storage environments (NetApp, Vast storage, etc.)

  • Experience working in data center or co-location settings, including racking & stacking servers

  • Ability to communicate fluently with adjacent IT disciplines (Network Operations, Systems, Data Teams, etc.)

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Current IAT Level II certification (i.e. CompTIA Security+ CE) or the willingness and ability to obtain within six months of employment.

  • Ability to travel occasionally to other facilities in the US or abroad

Recommended qualifications

  • Familiarity with scripting and automation

  • Understanding of and experience with DHCP, DNS, networking.

  • Experience with vulnerability management suites (Qualys, Tenable, etc.)

  • Relevant certifications or ability to obtain (CompTIA Security+)

The successful candidate’s starting pay will fall within the salary range provided below and is determined based on job-related factors, including, but not limited to, the experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills, geographic work location, and market conditions. Candidates with the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skillsets for the position should not expect to receive the upper end of the pay range.

● The base pay for this position within Colorado is: $71,000.00 - $117,000.00 annually.

For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
