We are looking for a highly experienced Sensory Research Manager to manage our clients highly prestigious sensory innovation centre Atlanta running exciting sensory projects to help our clients innovate in the food and beverages category.

About our opportunity…

In this Sensory Experience role, you will be responsible for consulting with clients, meeting study objectives, leading expert and user panels, managing technical staff, and delivering relevant valid data, data analysis, report writing ensuring commercially relevant sensory insights that will help our clients better innovate. This exciting and varied role will allow you to grow your leadership and research skills. You will have opportunities to engage with our Global experts from sensory, consumer, marketing, and innovation.

Key responsibilities:

  • To design each sensory project to best meet our clients’ commercial objectives and deliver high added value sensory insight, working in close partnership with clients and colleagues
  • To collaborate with and call upon other sensory colleagues, client account, data science and innovation teams, and other support teams in the MMR ecosystem, to develop and implement the best approach, delivery and analysis plan within given timing and budget constraints
  • To draw up project schedules (timing, briefings, etc.) and coordinate all aspects of each project and ensure accurate and timely execution ensuring appropriate resourcing and equipment,
  • To manage, motivate and engage the sensory panelists, and lead panel sessions, to ensure smooth delivery of sensory research and consistently deliver high quality descriptive analysis insight
  • To analyze and interpret the sensory project data and make commercially relevant recommendations, answering the clients challenges and using storytelling principles
  • To oversee the Sensory Technician who is responsible for the daily preparation of sensory project operations
  • To act as a true partner to your clients ensure regular connects to keep them up to date with project progress, manage their expectations and involve them in storytelling and debrief planning
  • To ensure panel engagement and motivation and performance improvement beyond project work, including monitoring and providing individual feedback
  • To proactively trigger and input in recruiting and training new panelists to ensure smooth sensory capacities
  • To take an active role in the MMR Sensory Global Team and associated initiatives, and push for improvement, innovation and efficiencies
  • To be active in other internal company initiatives as a sensory experience expect, continuously pushing the visibility and growth of MMR sensory
  • To promote a positive and pleasant working environment at all time

  • Passion for sensory experience and innovation
  • Experience in leading trained panels, facilitating group discussion and achieving consensus is essential
  • IT literate with experience of sensory data capture software is beneficial
  • Excellent problem solving, organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills and ability to work well within a team
  • Educated to degree level (ideally B.S., M.S. in Food Science, Science, Sensory or Psychology)
