Associate UI/Systems Designer

As an Associate UI/Systems Designer, you will be supporting all of our mission teams but with close alignment to our Core team. You will be responsible for all aspects of UI and Systems with support from the Senior Systems Designer and UI Lead, who you will report into. Designers at Moneybox are accountable for everything they design - launching features which touch all of our customers. You will work alongside other designers at a range of levels and collaboratively with Brand, Product and Developers in a lean environment.


You must have at least 1 years of experience in a product-led organisation, a portfolio demonstrating your design process with a focus on visual design for native apps or web. You should have an interest in technology, an eye for detail and a desire to learn on the go and think on your feet.

What you'll do
  • This role will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
  • Specialist UI designer, taking responsibility for all aspects of UI - with a focus on making our product easy-to-use and magical.
  • Play a key role in the rollout of our new UI language throughout 2025.
  • Evaluate UI design throughout the development cycle to ensure it meets our standards, providing advice and support when necessary. 
  • You will support the maintenance and improvement of our Design System, including the creation of components, documentation and by providing support to product designers.
  • You will support or own the creation of in-app assets such as iconography and illustrations, including motion, working collaboratively with brand designers.
  • Make sure our internal presentations, templates and Figma files are designed to showcase our work at its best.
  • Use a combination of data and customer feedback to refine and optimise screens, components, assets and micro-interactions.
  • You will work collaboratively with other teams to understand the user base, business needs, related requirements and technical constraints.
  • You will report directly to the UI Lead and be based in the London office on a hybrid basis (2 days per week in the office, Monday and Wednesday).
  • You’ll have weekly 1-2-1 sessions with your line manager to encourage development and growth.
  • Have a deep understanding of the Moneybox customers, products and our app.
  • You’ll be a part of the wider Moneybox design team and participate in design reviews and design community. 


Who you are
  • A driven designer with 1 years minimum experience delivering UI design and Design Systems for apps
  • Possess a portfolio full of beautiful, well thought out interface work that showcases your flair and attention-to-detail. Include examples of mobile app products you have worked on (iOS and Android – if you have them)
  • Competent with a wide range of UI techniques and tools including prototyping (i.e. ProtoPie, Play), motion design (i.e. After Effects, Rive) and illustration
  • An understanding of and interest in accessibility including awareness of the WCAG guidelines
  • You’re a great communicator
  • Work well autonomously
  • Eager to deliver impeccable visual designs and have a high attention to detail
  • Quick learner, always open-minded and curious, and eager to learn new skills
  • Ability to think on your feet, adapt and convey your ideas and thought process
