Senior Quality Manager

Sr. Quality Manager 

SUMMARY 

Mortenson is currently seeking a Sr. Quality Manager that will lead, manage, document, monitor, and analyze the quality system on one or more significant projects; and lead necessary corrective and preventive actions. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Incorporate and lead Mortenson’s quality system on one or more significant projects.
  • Coach and mentor Quality Managers, Engineers, and others within the operating group.
  • Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.
  • Lead team members by example, offer effective coaching and feedback, and effectively manage performance.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Possess basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Primavera Unifier.
  • Knowledge of one or more quality systems: i.e., Malcolm Baldridge, ISO 9000, Lean, Kaizen, Army Corps of Engineers, Mortenson’s Quality System, continuous improvement, value streams, etc.
  • Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback.
  • Ability to travel up to 75%.

Education and Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent field.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in the design, engineering, or construction industry; with experience leading a project’s quality system
  • Experience in Design/Build
  • Experience with issue management, and inspection of work put in place
  • Current driver’s license.

The base pay range for this role  is $114,000 - $171,000. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%).

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.

  • Our postings are typically open a minimum of 5 days and an average of 44 days.
