Technical Writer (Contractor)

Mujin is the future of industrial robotic systems in production and distribution environments. Our technology gives robots perception and awareness, enabling them to take on more advanced tasks. Our aim is to revolutionize the use of robotics within industry to free human resources from labor intensive tasks to focus on more intellectual challenges.  


Mujin is seeking an experienced technical writer to join our dynamic product team. As a technical writer, you will play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining comprehensive documentation for the installation, configuration, and operation of our advanced robotic systems. This position offers a unique opportunity to collaborate cross-functionally with various departments, addressing complex technical challenges to deliver innovative solutions. As a Technical Writer, you will leverage your expertise to positively impact the success of our organization and our customers. 


The anticipated duration of the contract is expected to be a minimum of 6 months. The individual in this role will work cross-functionally amongst the engineering team and will be expected to meet with the engineers in Suwanee, GA. for the duration of the contract.


Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and organization of our internal documentation library, establishing a robust information architecture 
  • Transform internal documentation into user-friendly materials for our integrator partners 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to update and enhance our core documentation, including manuals, release notes, and API development resources 
  • Proactively gather product information from business and technical stakeholders through research, experimentation, and interviews 
  • Ensure alignment of documentation with other communication efforts, such as training, support, solutions design, sales, and marketing 
  • Contribute to the formulation and execution of the company’s documentation strategy 


Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, communications, or a related field that provides a foundation for success as a technical writer 
  • Minimum of two years of experience in technical writing or a related field 
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills 
  • Proven ability to interview engineers and extract detailed technical information 
  • Demonstrated capacity to quickly assimilate new technical concepts 
  • Experience in documenting complex software systems 
  • A user-centric approach to creating documentation 
  • Proven track record of developing documentation from the ground up for major products or initiatives 
  • Proficiency in creating task-focused, modular technical publications 
  • Familiarity with Confluence, Microsoft Suite, Adobe 


Preferred:
  • Experience working in the automation or robotics industry 
  • Experience with hardware and software documentation 
  • Python experience 
  • Familiarity with translation/localization/internationalization processes 
  • Interest in advancing user-centered product design as a company strategy
