Job Purpose The DevOps Tools & Engineering team builds and maintains the enterprise DevOps platform used by more than 2,000 users at National Grid. In this role, you will design, build, and implement continuous integration / continuous delivery (CICD) solutions used by a wide range of project and product teams. The CICD pipelines will support applications written in .Net, Java, React JS, React Native, and Node JS. You will analyze project requirements and come up with DevOps solutions to automate software build and deployment processes via the tools of the enterprise DevOps platform. Our enterprise DevOps platform is made up of industry leading DevOps tools and supports DevOps capabilities across the entire application life cycle. These include: Cloudbees Jenkins, Ansible Tower, Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence, SonarQube, Checkmarx, Selenium, Artifactory, NetSparker, and Azure DevOps. Key Accountabilities Gather requirements for new or modified CICD pipelines Design and implement CICD Pipeline solutions Develop scripts to automate and improve operational processes Maintain pipeline code within Bitbucket Plan and execute work using Jira, Confluence Troubleshoot DevOps toolchain deployment issues Implement new tools required to extend the enterprise DevOps platform Partner with DevOps team members and application development teams on automation projects Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or related technology field 3-5 years of Software Engineering experience Experience with one or more of the following DevOps related tools: Jenkins, Artifactory, Ansible Tower, or Azure DevOps Scripting experience with one or more of the following: Groovy, Python, PowerShell, and Bash Experience using build tools such as Maven, Ant or MS Build, Good understanding of industry best practices for agile software development Preferred Qualifications 2 years of DevOps, Build Engineering, Release Management, or SRE experience Strong Software experience with DevOps in an agile/SAFe environment Solid understanding of object-oriented programming concepts Ability to plan and manage work using Jira and Confluence Hands on experience implementing CI/CD flows using pipeline as code Ability to implement quality scans and quality gates within CICD pipelines using Sonarqube Ability to implement Checkmarx (SAST) or NetSparker (DAST) within CICD Pipelines.
