We are looking for an Engineering Manager to join our team in our Toronto office.
This role will be responsible for leading and managing a team of engineers and the apps within their domain. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about supporting their team members’ and augmenting their skills with your own knowledge to help them grow. We expect you to be the primary driver of delivering on our customers’ needs and shipping a quality product.
We work in a hybrid work environment, and we value in-person collaboration. Employees are expected to be in-office three days a week (Tuesdays- Thursdays).
Responsibilities:
Lead and empower a cross-functional team of talented engineers.
Develop and continuously improve the stability and resiliency of our services.
Working closely with other engineering teams to communicate solutions and solve challenges across our apps.
Raise the bar in your team for technical expertise and delivering a smooth product experience to our users.
Ensure modern software development practices such as CI/CD, TDD, pro-active monitoring and alerting.
Collaborate with product managers and other stakeholders to deliver on our customer’s needs.
Participate in code reviews and application debugging and diagnosis.
Backend: Python/Django, NodeJS, Postgres, GraphQL
Frontend: Typescript, Remix, Next.js
Infra: GCP, Kubernetes, Terraform
Building a scalable platform that is the core system of record and source of truth for all our customers marketplace and financial data.
A product that allows any customer to create and launch their own marketplace, including a WYSIWYG editor, and tools to manage their product catalog, orders, and finances.
About You:
You have 2+ years of hands-on technical leadership and people management experience.
You focus on keeping your team highly engaged in delivering our product roadmap to keep up with growth and customer needs
Excellent knowledge and previous hands-on programming experience in developing Frontend apps (NextJS, Remix, etc…) and/or Backend services (Python/Django, etc…)
Experience in scaling and maintaining critical software services
An adaptive, quick-learner that can think outside-the-box to solve problems
Ability to balance delivering features while maintaining the level of quality our customers expect
Experience working at fast-paced startups with product-led growth
Experience in the e-commerce or fintech spaces
Familiarity with GCP services and working with Kubernetes
