Job Description

NielsenIQ Activate powers engagements that matter for retailers, brands and their customers with a unique SaaS, AI-based collaborative platform. It offers its retail and brand users the Full View into Supply Chain Analytics, Assortment & Promotion Analytics, Category & Customer Analytics, Personalized Offer Management, and Retail Media Intelligence. With NIQ Activate, collaboration between retailers and suppliers is made simple to enable mutual, profitable growth.

Our Western Europe team is looking for a Business development Manager to support our new go-to-market strategy supporting retailers enhance the value they get out of their data.  

As part of our Western Europe Sales team, you will lead prospection and expansion in your assigned markets as a priority and  to across all aspects of the sales process: from identifying new business opportunities to support expansion opportunities and achieve planned financial objectives & performance indicators.

 

Responsibilities

Business Development

  • Develop a precise target account and persona mapping to acquire new clients and / or upsell to existing clients
  • Plan & deliver discovery meetings to qualify opportunities by conducting compelling presentations & product demonstrations showcasing the features and benefits of Activate.
  • Move opportunities along the sales funnel
  • Work collaboratively with the Retailer sales team to develop pricing strategies and proposals for data monetization programs
  • Conduct thorough business development reviews to identify incremental revenue opportunities from new clients with sales generalists in Western Europe
  • Adopt Consultative approach to selling, identifying needs and selling appropriate solutions for our retailer clients.
  • Provide continuous feedback on competitive activities within assigned clients
  • Presentation skills; the ability to identify, structure and present compelling ideas and opportunities
  • Local market knowledge in the FMCG / T&D Retail industry and their suppliers is a must

 

Financial Management

  • Achieve revenue, profitability, quality, speed of delivery and productivity targets as well as other related business development objectives as assigned
  • Owns the business plan: financial target/proposal submission/revenue on hand/pipeline for its group of clients/solutions.
  • Takes overall accountability for business planning and implementation. Tracks the financial performance of clients.

You thrive in a fast-paced sales environment, have strong consultative selling & relationship building skills. You are a team player who has the ability to collaborate with peers and contribute to the success of NielsenIQ.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of working experience in Loyalty / CRM in the fields of FMCG and / or Tech & Durables / FMCG (retailer/marketing/sales) or research-related industry experience (insights/category/shopper/agency)
  • Strong commercial acumen with significant B2B sales experience
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office and good analytical skills
  • Exceptional client management and negotiation skills
  • Fluent in Italian and English language (written and verbal communication skills)
  • Preference goes to candidates that own a car
