Art Director, Nike Basketball, Brand Design, GlobalWHO WE ARE LOOKING FORArt Directors lead a team of multidisciplinary designers across multiple projects, working closely with the Sr CD, Studio Managers, Producers and Narrative Leads to deliver thoughtful and innovative creative. They drive design excellence and collaboration across multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that the team delivers comprehensive creative authentic to athlete stories, product innovation and sport moments. Presents work to Sr level VPs. Coaches multiple designers and builds opportunities for individual development, performance management, recognition and rewards. Encouraging and leading innovative thinking, collaboration, and teamwork. They are passionate and connected to the creative industry - and this network and interest both inspire and drive their creative thinking!WHAT YOU WILL WORK ONWork with Creative Directors to develop Nike’s visual direction.Drive the Nike Basketball Brand’s Art Direction with Design teams, providing inspiration, mentorship, support and direction.Encourage excellence, ambition, and team spirit.Deliver outstanding photography, video content, experiences and digital design in service of Nike Brand Initiatives.Develop and maintain relationships with photographers, filmmakers, illustrators, designers and writers.Work strategically with other leads in the business to ensure the strongest approach to external talent.Keep up to date with emerging trends in sports, basketball, fashion, design, film, art, media and technology as relevant to Nike and the design team.Collaborate with Brand Voice, photography, styling, marketing, digital, retail, experience, product design and concepts to lead teams through creative process and projects.Ensure all projects are well-planned, creatively exceptional, and delivered timely.Promote needs for training and development, coaching and mentoring.Review project work for highest standards of quality, consistency and success.Presentation and public speaking skills.WHO YOU WILL WORK WITHYou will partner with the Creative Directors, creative studio teammates, Brand Voice, Digital Marketing and Retail Marketing, Merchandising, Global Styling, the Global Brand Imaging Studio, the Content Production teams and Geo/City Studios.WHAT YOU BRINGMinimum 8+ years graphic design and art direction experience in branded content, agency, editorial or marketing environment.Bachelor's degree or higher in graphic design or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.A passion for the Athlete, Sport and Culture.A stellar portfolio of creative work, exhibiting a seasoned background in digital and editorial design.Deep knowledge and expertise in all aspects of layout, typography, illustration, identity, digital and experience production and publishing across formats and platforms.Detailed understanding of today’s creative landscape and how people engage with content from digital products to environments and experiences.Ability to collaborate with and creatively manage external agency relationships.Proven ability as a manager and mentor, with a knack and passion for helping everyone on the team—especially senior-level and entrepreneurial talent—to grow, improve, succeed, and advance toward collective and individual goals.Ability to lead team efforts while also working independently to deliver on individual responsibilities.Proven ability to flex and adapt to changing business needs while maintaining creative quality.Laser-sharp focus with ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure.Strong time management with ability to toggle between daily and long-term tasks, keeping workstreams moving forward simultaneously.Excellent verbal and visual communication skills; adept at presenting and defending creative work.Strong interpersonal skills with highly developed ability to foster cross-functional teamwork and an open, positive and collaborative environment.Highly developed curiosity and in-depth understanding of design culture, current and past.Strong understanding of day-to-day editorial operations and production.We offer a number of accommodations to complete our interview process including screen readers, sign language interpreters, accessible and single location for in-person interviews, closed captioning, and other reasonable modifications as needed.
