Job Description

North 40 Outfitters in Colville, WA is looking to hire a Full-Time Operations Assistant Store Manager to join our team.  We believe that each team member plays a vital role in the success of our company.  We are looking for authentic and enthusiastic people who love our lifestyle and believe in service before self. 

As an Operations Assistant Store Manager at North 40, will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the store. This role is responsible for assisting with daily operations, managing staff, and ensuring excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, experience in retail management, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently. The Operations Assistant Manager is being trained to transition into a Store Manager role and will back up the Store Manager in all decision-making during their absence.

This full-time position requires the ability to work all scheduled shifts between the business hours of Mon-Sat 7 am to 7 pm, and Sunday 9 am to 5 pm.  As this is a managerial position it is not uncommon to work 50+ hours a week.  This shift can include working weekends and certain holidays and will require flexibility in scheduling based on business needs.

Qualifications

Staff Management

  • Assist in recruiting, training, and supervising retail staff
  • Monitor staff performance and provide feedback and coaching
  • Address employee concerns and conflicts in a professional manner.
  • Serve as a trainer for receiving teams, ensuring efficient and accurate stock handling
  • Conduct disciplinary actions and documentation of employees as necessary

Customer Service

  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service
  • Handle customer complaints and issues promptly and effectively
  • Implement and maintain customer service standards
  • Provide leadership to front-end teams, emphasizing hospitality expectations.

Store Operations

  • Assist in the daily operations of the store, including opening and closing procedures
  • Ensure the store is clean, organized, and well-maintained
  • Implement company policies and procedures
  • Monitor sales activities to ensure customer satisfaction and quality of service
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to enhance efficiency and productivity
  • Coordinate with maintenance teams for timely repairs and upkeep of the store

Operational Planning and Execution

  • Develop and execute operational plans to achieve store objectives
  • Analyze sales data and customer feedback to identify areas for improvement
  • Manage and optimize the store layout for maximum customer engagement and sales
  • Oversee merchandising standards and ensure consistent presentation of products.

Safety & Security

  • Fully trained on all safety standards and procedures within the store
  • Implement and enforce safety and security protocols to ensure a safe shopping environment
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify and address potential hazards
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements
  • Train staff on emergency procedures, including fire drills and evacuation plans
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and protocols
  • Oversee the maintenance and functionality of store equipment and fixtures

Leadership Development

  • Participate in training to prepare for the Store Manager role
  • Develop leadership skills through mentoring and hands-on experience
  • Learn and understand all aspects of store management, including financial performance, staff management, and operational efficiency

Financial Management

  • Assist in managing the store's budget and financial performance
  • Monitor expenses and ensure cost-effective operations
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives to improve profitability
