Job Description

The Communications Intern reflects the mission, vision and values of NM; adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program; and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards. The Communications Intern is responsible for supporting their manager and other Communications team members in writing and editing content for newsletters and other communications projects and pieces.

Responsibilities:

  • Acts as a content developer
    • Authors and edits articles, letters, emails and other communications
    • Conducts interviews with sources as necessary to create content
    • Provides ad hoc writing support to team members/clients
  • Other duties as assigned

The Communications Intern has the opportunity to acquire and further develop their healthcare writing, editing and interview skills.

12 Week Program

Wednesday, May 14, 2025 - Tuesday, August 5, 2025

Qualifications

Required:

  • Degree-seeking student or higher
  • Displays excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient in interviewing subjects for articles
  • Proficient in writing and editing
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to self-manage scheduling from multiple requestors, meeting deadlines
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to travel to NM locations when needed. Valid driver’s license, and clean driving record; reliable transportation.

Preferred:

  • Completion of at least the sophomore year of study.
