Job Description

As a Procurement Specialist with OMES you will enjoy:

  • Generous leave including 15 days of vacation, 15 days of sick leave and 11 paid holidays annually.

Job Details

  • Full-time 40-hour work weeks.
  • Support the Finance team
  • Salary up to: $55,000 based on education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews purchase requests submitted by OMES divisions to determine proper purchasing requirements.
  • Processes all purchase requests and change orders based upon delegated authority in PeopleSoft.
  • Completes all contract renewals for each assigned OMES division.
  • Responds to inquiries utilizing procurement knowledge and resources to provide excellent customer service.
  • Maintains and utilizes state P-Card according to internal OMES and State Purchasing Card procedures.
  • Utilizes purchasing reports to determine proper funding stream, working with the OMES Finance budget team to properly code requisitions.
  • Represents the agency at public and private sector meetings.
  • Works effectively within a team environment, participating in and assisting their peers when necessary.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • This position works in a comfortable office setting with a large percentage of the workday done on a computer and telephone. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Finance, or related field with a year of experience substituting for a year of education.

Preference will be given to candidates who possess

  • Certification as a State of Oklahoma Certified Procurement Officer (CPO) or ability to obtain CPO Certification within one year of employment.
  • Knowledge of Title 74 - the Central Purchasing Act and 260:115 Administrative Rules.
