The Role

We are seeking a temporary Math Diagram Designer to assist with the recreation of math images and diagrams in our PK–5 Mathematics curriculum.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Recreate placeholder math diagrams with consistency
  • Collaborate Product team to define and scope image requirements
  • Meet regularly with the Product team to get final approval for images
  • Document and manage the image recreation delivery process
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to sync schedules and progress
  • Receive feedback and adjust as necessary
  • Communicate required specifications to contractors, vendors, and internal teams
  • Verify that all delivered images meet technical and instructional specifications 
    • Work with the Product team to ensure all placeholder images are replaced in CMS with final recreated images

Job Qualifications

  • Expertise in K–5 Mathematics: Prior teaching experience, familiarity with pedagogy, or curriculum development experience is highly preferred—the ability to understand and interpret placeholder diagrams to recreate them accurately while maintaining mathematical integrity.  Mathematical manipulatives to be graphically represented include but are not limited to:
    • Base Ten Blocks
    • Tape Diagrams
    • Ten Frames
    • Counters
    • Number lines
    • Geometric shapes and solids
    • Linking cubes
    • Pattern blocks
    • Fraction strips
    • Number bonds
    • Number paths
  • Design Skills: Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and experience creating SVG files. Must be able to ensure all images align with our established brand guidelines.
  • Quick Learner: Ability to quickly grasp new processes and workflows, adapting to our diagram creation process efficiently.
  • Organizational & Time Management Skills: Excellent ability to manage tasks in a virtual environment, with proven experience handling competing priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Ownership & Results-Driven: Proven track record of taking ownership of tasks and delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail, especially in ensuring diagrams are precise while managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to foster a positive and collaborative remote team environment, embracing real-time communication and teamwork.
